Sacrifice was a really interesting/unusual 1st person RTS when it was released back in 2000? I don't know if there is anything else like it. And I also don't know how it runs on modern 64 bit OSes, but it used DirectX for graphics acceleration.

Legendary game. I remember playing it back in 2000 and running into the first game my 166Mhz Pentium I couldn't handle smoothly, even with a 4MB ATI 3D Rage video card.

Epic voice-acting from Brad Garrett and Tim Curry. Hollywood-caliber fantasy story for a game from 2000. Holds up really well today.

I bought it yesterday, so I'm planning to replay it. I tried 2 years ago and it took me a bit to get the handling of it , but then it was fantastic.
This is one I recall as in the top 5 of best designed games.
