Red Dot - Antler Superlight Durable Suitcase $70 (WA Only)

40

Red Dot is a discount chain store in WA, and very rarely do they have anything of decent quality. This seems like a good deal.

Antler Superlight Durable suitcase, weighs only 2.1kg, official measurements 60x40x20cm (actual measurements 56 x 35 x 23 (26 expanded), so within typical guidelines for carry-on - thanks @peterd).

RRP $229, on sale for $70.

Appears to be a red colour from the catalogue, I'm not sure if other colours are available. I also can't find the exact Antler model name/number, it's not clear from the catalogue.

  • 2.1Kg is Superlight question mark
When you only have 5Kg carry on on some budget airlines do you really want to waste the first 2.1 on your case.

    • They don't really get much ligher than that. Carry-on suitcases are often >2.5kg, so this is light.

      • I just had a look at my Antler I have a scoot trip next week with only carry on this has left me with only <3KG

  • Hi, it is worth noting that at 60 x 40 x 20 the total dimensions are 120cm which is 5 over the 115cm maximum carry-on size on Qantas domestic. I know they rarely check this but it does sometimes happen and I am told they are getting stricter in enforcing these allowances. I suspect this is why it is available at Red Dot.

    • It's possible that this is including the soft handle on top. But if you are right then it is a problem, because usually cabin size suitcases cannot exceed ~55cm in length. We have had to check-in a "cabin suitcase" in Hong Kong for being a few cm longer than the standard.

I went and checked as there is Red Dot not far from me and the case is standard for large carry-on at 56 x 35 x 23(26 expanded) which keeps it under the 115cm.

It is a nice case and worth it if you don't mind the colour (they only had burgundy). I would buy one if I didn't already have something similar.

This model is called the Antler Duolite. This style has been discontinued which would probably explain them popping up here. I have a larger version of this & couldn't be happier with it!
