I do like keeping abreast of these sort of deals

    • Same. Added a deal reminder since I have a bad mammary.

      • Not the Breast Deal out there, but suppose it's pretty decent

        • I think you can also follow them on titter for the best deals

        • Hoping that this will start a Tit for Tat price war !

  • Well obviously I'd rather suck the milk out myself. No sale here.

  • Breast feeding may result in increased cup size

MrsDixit would like to thank the ozbargain community for all the useful comments in this thread. I'll give it a spin. Might get one for MrsDixit too.

    • I hope there is a nice comfy kennel at the Dixit house, coz if your Mrs reads these comments, I know where you're sleeping tonight!

Cost of formula around $20 and can turn out around 3 litre of milk. Cost of this thing $150 plus your hour lost.

You need to produce at least 21 litre of breastmilk to break even not counting your lost of hour maintenance etc.

Assumption that breastmilk exclusively is cheap is not valid. It is better (if you are eating well)

There's so many benefits to breastfeeding that your shallow comparison of formula vs pump based on cost is like comparing a submarine to a caterpillar.
      - higher IQ, NHMRC considers breastfeeding 7 IQ points benefit
(probably worth more than your $150 difference, probably worth $100000+ alone)
      - less likely to suffer from respiratory or gastro infections
      - less likely to suffer from SIDS
      - less likely to have asthma, diabetes
      - less likely to have coeliac disease, IBD and some childhood cancers
This is all meta-analysis information from quality RCT, not some whack job studies that have been googled: http://www.nhmrc.gov.au/_files_nhmrc/publications/attachment…

      Benefits to mum:
      - less likely to have breast or ovarian cancer

How's that for $150 worth? I reckon bargain of the century. I'm not also sure why you think that breastfeeding is better only if you are eating well? What is "eating well"?
