i got one of these, one of the best kit lenses ever but that's like saying its the best Big Mac you ever had

protip: troll around the photo forums, you can pick up new ones for close to nothing since they are bought by people then replaced by better lenses later

    • Hi Tony - rank newbie to decent cameras but I am after lenses for a Sony A200 dslr - it only came with the one. Would these forums have any cheap suitable lenses?

      • not knowing what you shoot i can only guess but i always recommend this lens no matter what camera:

        http://www.crazysales.com.au/tamron-sp-af-17-50mm-f2-8-xr-di…

pay a bit more for stability control (not sure if needed on a Sony)

its the go to lens for most people and very cheap

        • Thanks heaps - don't shoot anything much yet but hope to once I master the art!

    Does this hold coffee?

  • This isn't the Weather Resistant version is it? I'd personally dosh out for that version instead as it's light and, on something like the K30, would make the camera usable in the rain which opens up a few more photographic opportunities.

  • It is a Pentax kit lens, so people should sell tons of them at a price of ~$60…70.
But if want a new one (providing you do not have it), it is a good price.

  • $299 RRP for a kit lens? lol

    • yeah a bit more and you can buy an slr
