Pulsar Hatch $50 BP Card - Update

Hi,

If you're like me, you might have been wondering if Nissan's promised $50 BP Petrol Gift Card for a Pulsar Hatch testdrive would ever appear (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/102313). I rang them today - now for about the 3rd time (keep ringing on principle even though I doubt it will ever be seen).

Their newest story is that due to the large number of people who took up the offer they've had to push back the date that they will be sent out to be the middle of this month.
Not bad for an offer first posted in May ?!?!@?!

I'd be really annoyed if I'd bought the car & been promised a $500 eftpos card and was still waiting - unless they processed them differently?

I tried to see how they worked out who it would actually be sent to - given that I've been given all sorts of stories as to how to know whether my name is 'on the list', and that my dealership won't call me back to say if they've done their job. This time they said that it would basically be automatic because the salesperson would have done what they always do.

Post here if you got it, or get it, or just think they're pulling our chain…Wouldn't have thought that Nissan would have not thought things through, but it seems to me that they just didn't work out that lots of people will do something mundane for $50…

  • accc or aca?

    • I'll tell you what - if they don't give it to me by the end of the month then accc it will be…

  • Did it too and got nothing

  • thanks for letting me know about the progress, coz i tried emailing & calling the car dealership too & not once did i get a reply. So i email the nissan main office, once again no reply. I'm only following up more baased on principle. if you are going to advertuise such a thing, then follow thru on it!

  • Yup me too…I phoned dealer twice and they told me that Nissan would be mailing the cards out in August.
    STILL waiting.

  • I rang the dealer last week and had it explained that I had to let them know when I came in for the test drive.
I said 'that' is not stated on the offer webpage, that they called me in response to signing for the $50 fuel offer. And should have known this.
I stated their dealership will very likely never be considered by my family, and in October 2013 I will likely buy a Toyota from nearby dealership instead.

The dealership was Rockingham Nissan WA on Dixon Rd.

    What an intentional rip-off.

Incidentely, I just sorted out with Commonwealth Bank, after opening a CDIA and leaving $1001 for > month, they aren't paying either, even though I proved their 'excuse' was wrong. That I didn't follow the email link blah, blah.
I said here's the publicly accesible webpage link with the offer clearly stated. He said "Oh yes we had several different offers"
Thus a backflip, but I was still not given the stated $50. Crooks!

One other thing, after a decade of applying for cashbacks, I have only ever recieved one (x1) From Woolies for $11, thank you Woolies I don't feel so ripped off with 'one' success. Microsoft cant you afford to honor your contracts?

Bitching sure. but business are so often crooks.

  • I contacted Nissan Customer Service and got them to follow up on the progress.

My first call last week I needed to provide all my personal details, and my feeling was that it appeared that I may not have been on the list as when I gave my details the customer service rep couldn't find it. He grabbed my contact details and said he'd call me back (which never happened).

Earlier this week I called again, asked for and spoke to the same guy. I reiterated my details and provided the time and date of my test drive with the dealership again. He even asked what the value of the fuel card was and if I bought the car or not… what the?

Cut a long story short, he finally confirmed that I'm in the distribution list, however because of the popularity of this promo, I should be receiving my card by the end of this month.

I'll suggest to run through you personal details to ensure that you are on their list and get a reference number for the call.

    Cheers,

    Andy

  • I have a feeling that my BP fuel card has arrived. Got a Aus Post collect card yesterday when I got home from work (and I'm not expecting anything else to arrive at my home address that's Registered Posted). Will pick it up this arvo. Fingers crossed it's the fuel card. Will keep you all posted!

  • I also haven't got my card yet~ I will pursue it on moral grounds and wont stop until I get it and then if it takes a lot of bitching around ima complain some more~ I have just been to fked around this month and sick of it

  • Got the card today, was posted as registered post. Didn't do any follow up or complaining to Nissan.
    Just be patient guys.

  • Confirming I recieved mine as well ^_^

  • I found the glossy brochure in my 'inbox' today and remembered I never did get the voucher. Range them on principle. They took my details and looked through their details and said that the information hadn't reached them from the dealership, however they could see that I had booked a testdrive and so they would send the voucher out in the next 2 weeks. Not holding my breath, but we'll see!

  • 4 1/2 months later asked them twice, & still no Nissan promised $50 BP Petrol Gift Card.
Test drive was worth it though to compare the car to better designed cars I was considering buying at the time.
Bought a second hand vehicle in the end (2006 Getz = $3500, 74000km), as new technology and design (eg. can't see properly out rear window but has 5-star ratng & bluetooth) put me off ever buying modern cars-for-the-stupid.

  • I had to chase them with one phone call about 3 weeks ago. They said I was on the list and they would send straight away (felt like saying 'well if I am on the list why didn't you already send it?'). Took about 1.5 weeks to arrive but I have it now.

  • who did you guys call? the dealer or Nissan… a number would be handy
