Needed advice for good Gigabit router

I am currently in dilemma as I will be moving house & the new house has NBN equipment installed in the garage. I want to buy a good but not too expensive router + voip system (budget around $250). I have been checking WP forums and also different reviews online but difficult to make any decision.
Router must have good wireless range and throughput more than 100Mbps. I also want to use VOIP phone service at home.
I was considering the following but not finding good deals these days though.

1) Asus RT N-56U - $107 + Gigaset C610A IP - $200 = $307 (going out of my budget)
2) Fritzbox 7739 (built in VOIP) - $250 + DECT phone $50 = $300 (going out of budget)

any suggestion about good combo? or anyone has any idea about usability/compatibility of American Gigaset here because it's just $100 for C610A IP in the USA.

  • Billion 7800VDPX can be had under $200 ($185 at MSY) has VoiP inbuilt and Wireless N dual band.

Even cheaper, just get a standard gigabit wifi router and use a cheap (or your existing) Android handset as a voip handset.

    • I should point out that the Billion VDPX is a Modem/Router but has a WAN port

  • In my opinion Asus has the best routers you can get, much more reliable then anything else.
