  • I think I'm sold on this, ticks all the boxes for me. Cheers OP.

    • Just remember to turn off the "light sensor" setting in the "eco" menu.

      • +1

I always turn off eco mode in all my gear - Burn that juice!

They also have the 60" 3D version (passive 3D) for $1866.60 delivered.

Or you can get the 55" Sony KDL55W800A Full HD 3D (passive) Smart LED-LCD TV for $1611.50 delivered.

The W800A (middle of the range) is reported to have better image quality than the R520/R550s (bottom of the range).

    • +1

Spot on. Also im not sure about the input lag on the lesser sonys, have never seen any reviews. But the W800A model has the lowest of any TV available and the W900 is also really low. Good TVs for gaming on.

      • I'm after a low input lag TV to replace my PS63C7000.
I almost ended up with a PS64F8500 but then read about the horrible input lag, so got my money back before picking it up.
I'd like one of the Sonys but I don't want to go down to 55" after having a 63" for the last 3 years.
I'll probably end up with a PS64F5500. Jb currently doing it for $1698 with this 15% off deal. Last week I was trying to buy one and JB wouldn't budge from $1800 in store.

  • +9

I got the LG 55" Passive 3d model for $1400 from JB last week RRP $2100 list as $1989 or something like that.

Great tv without any motion judder, And without the 3d headache effect being passive

    Edit: this one http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/plasma-lcd-tvs/tvs-led-lcd-52…

Any anyone wants me to scan receipt let me know.

  • Hi Matt,

Can I please have the receipt?

    Thanks

  • thats the listed price right?

would you be able to haggle that price down even further in store?

  • Can anyone tell me about the TV? Is it any good.

  • Lots of stuff doesn't seem to be discounted, and not just the excluded stuff…

    • So am I the only one who thinks the vast majority of prices aren't discounted?

      • Some are not showing the discounted price unless you click on the buy online.

        • Aaaand most have them have changed on the regular page too. Carry on.

  • Whats with the 4 HDMi?

Also does anyone know when/if Costco has their TV sales?

    • +2

I listed a lot of the costco tv pricing here last month. I went again yesterday and prices were mostly the same

      • +1

        Thanks,

Looking at getting a Costco card just for the tv

      • Did you notice any samsung Series 8 55inch F8000 LED TV UA55F8000AM at docklands Costco ?

        • +1

Cant say that i took muvh notice. Prob go there again this coming friday and will update prices then

  • +1

Not bad but the 100Hz is a touch on the low end these days. I know it's a few hundred more but i think this is a better buy http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/plasma-lcd-tvs/tvs-led-lcd-60…
At 60" you will notice the smoothness of the motion a lot more. Although, if you don't have a 100Hz v a 200Hz side by side then you probably won't notice it all!
Maybe this one at the same price point but slightly smaller but a better refresh rate? http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/plasma-lcd-tvs/tvs-led-lcd-52…

    • makes a big difference at 200hz

    • Can you explain what the difference is? I have no idea how this 100Hz or 200Hz thing works.
I mainly watch FTA, will it improve the picture?

  • I got a 65" Plasma for only $300 more a few months back, no way would I consider an LCD for this price.

    • +2

      Which model?
Also, LCDs are always more expensive that plasmas

      • I doubt it's the VT series, must be lower end.

  • There's so many things I don't like about my Bravia:
    - lack of previous channel button on remote control
    - responding time after turn the TV on before being able to change channels, adjust volume, or any other function from remote control
    - bad view angle
So I try to avoid Bravia

    • Without stating which model you're using, it's completely irrelevant. No single TV is built the same, even if the branding maybe.

    • Maybe you got a lemon…

      • Doubt he does. I have the HX820 model and the viewing angles are not that great as well and it does take time after switch on to be able to change channels. Also, I am finding that some channels does not display what they are showing in the program guide.

However, my old Panasonic Plasma developed red vertical lines and luckily I have extended warranty. Waiting to see whether they repair it, provide a replacement or give a store voucher. Seems the red vertical lines is a common issue.

  • I just bought this few days ago for $1899…..they can't bother to negotiate further

    • +1

      Same retailer?

      • yes from JB hifi

  • Will they give me even more discount in store, or should I just order online?

    • If you're an incredibly good bargainer you might be able to do better.

But they'll hold out pretty hard.

  • If anyone wants 5% on top off the best deal then PM me.

  • People still buy Sony TV's?

I thought Samsungs and Panasonics were better quality and cost since LCD's first came out.

  • Is the Onkyo TX-NR616AE(B) $624? Or 20% off $624?
