Looking for an Australian-compatible waffle iron

Hey Guys,

been looking around for a waffle maker for a while now - I am after a decent machine for home use but would like something of decent quality that would last like a waffle flip iron unlike the cheap plastic appliances commonly found around OZ. Anyone can make any recommendations? Anything even half decent seems to only be available from the states and utilises different voltage, having trouble finding anything locally.

Any help would be very much appreciated,

Jason.

  • Thanks for the link!

I've seen that one around but it seems to be quite an old model by Cusinart with reviews that aren't particularly rave though I understand I might have to settle for something like this being in OZ.

This model seems to have been available in the past http://www.productreview.com.au/p/cuisinart-4-slice-belgian-…

and is supposaedly a lot better but I can't find it anywhere anymore. Have you actually used the waffle maker in the link yourself?

    Cheers

  • Good option, these non-electrical makers seem to be the way to go, I've been looking into this one also -

but your one seems to be better construction (full cast iron vs aluminium despite the generally rave reviews of the Nordic).

I am not entirely sure about those converters, I heard that with appliances like waffle makers it might not work well?

    Thanks for your help :)

Should be fine as long as the rating is high enough. Note that they are a bad idea for anything with a motor as we work on a different frequency (washing machine, blender, hairdrier, etc).

that or something similar works fine. At least it does for my mum's waterpik. Haha

  • Check out Harris Scarfe, especially during one of their frequent sales. Most of the appliances sold there are of reputable brands and I feel certain they have waffle irons.
