[Price Error] Woolworths Scanning Price Error 8G CL-10 SD Card $12.99 down to $7.99 - Buy 2 Scan 1 Get 1 Free

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Just visited Woolworths in Moonee Ponds in Melb - Verbatim Class 10 8G Sd cards were normally $12.99, Reduced tag said $7.99. Grabbed 2 - scanned one came up at $12.99. Scanning policy saw this reduced to $7.99 and the 2nd one free.
Not sure exactly how the scanning policy works but it seemed a damn good deal.

That's not in the spirit of OZBargain.. taking advantage of such misfortune and WOW policy.

  • Pretty sure they'll fix this up quickly.

    • Normally they won't fix it quick.

Like years ago my wife found something scanned at wrong price after a few days still wrong price.

      • Like years ago

Well in 2013 my experience tells a different story ;-)

  • i doubt WOW would care

they are trying to get rid of stock, since most people want larger storage cards
    and also micro cards

If I'm not mistaken, the opt-in supermarket policy is the first one free and the rest at the 'marked down' price. I'd suspect they would've remedied that error shortly after though but I guess it can't hurt to try your luck.

    • now thats the spirit. much like chasing dick smith bargains - likely to be none, but worth a try.

  • They would have fixed it up right after you left

    Running down there now.

Why is this even posted? I doubt anyone else will get this "deal". It is a once off pricing error. Maybe I should have filled up ozbargain in the last month with how I got a free 6-pack of up-and-go at coles due to it being scanned at a higher price or 3 persimmons for the price of 1 when the cashier only put in a quantity of 1 instead of 3.

    • You're right - it's simply an instance of the scanning code of practice being practised. A site such as 'rate my buy' might be more appropriate.

How is pricing error considered a bargain to everyone?

I work right next door to that woolies, but i cbf getting 2 SD cards, which i have no use for and wasting 8 bucks on. lol

if they were micro SDs at least i could plug it into my phone, i dont have any products for normal SDs anymore.

  • The SD's weren't marked as reduced when I was there. There were 8gb Verbatim Pinstripe Store n Go marked from $10.99 to $7.99 so maybe OP's local store only.

With that said, only half the products on the shelf had price tags on the shelves so it's hard to know what prices they are anyways.
