First time I have seen this newish game discounted. Sales probably weren't very good as reviews attacked it for a plethora of bugs. I have now idea how many of these have been rectified by patches, and how many more updates are in the works.

The original 3 Realms of Arcania games (2 DOS, 1 Win95 I think) were interesting and challenging, being based on the German RPG Das Schwartz Auge (Black/Dark Eye). Thet even had some realism (requirement to eat/drink/warmth/deal with diseases), sort of like the Skyrim mod Realistic Needs. Some people hate the intrusion of realism into fantasy, but others feel it enhances gameplay.

This is sold on gamersgate. There might be discount coupons floating around.If so, please share.

  Here's a discussion on whether or not to shell out on the game now that it has been patched. Most people say go for it, but wait another 3 months before playing.

  ahh I wasn't aware this was using the Dark Eye rules.. the later Dark Eye RPGs (River of Time and uhh.. I've forgotten it's name) were very enjoyable games.. but yes, I read this had a lot of issues on launch.. for $5 I'll probably buy it though ($4 actually, since I still get the 20% discount.. man I'm going to miss that when it expires at end of year :( ).
