  • Anyone used this type of mount?
Saw them yesterday at Bunnings… 2 metal disks are screwed to wall and you them run a wire across the back of the tv and hang it like a large picture frame.
Doesn't look the best idea to me?

    • should be fine, like a painting

        Painting from ikea ~ $9.99

I'm pretty sure this is the same mounting system used by Samsung with some of their TVs.

      Edit: Yep - http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/tv-audio-video/television…

      • It looks exactly like that. The only difference seems to be the branding in the same spot.

  • If it's anything like the current "click" branded ones they're selling cheap I would avoid.

The spacing between where the brackets mount on the wall don't actually fit Australian building standards so it will never fit right on the wall.

    • Are you sure? Are you quoting 600mm centres or 450mm centres, or something different?

      • the brackets I was given were too wide for our walls, the single bracket or the dual bracket were still wrong. from memory the design was around 540mm.. which fits.. nothing under our building standards.

        • okay - thats where the confusion is - these are a completely different system and wouldnt suffer the same fate as you describe; there is no fixed bracket. You bolt the mounting discs to the wall (there is nothing determining how far appart they need or have to be, then mount the other components to the mounting holes on the TV panel - it then hangs like a picture frame.

I have my Samsung LED on the wall with the same system (different brand).
    It looks stunning!!!
Couldn't imagine using a chunky bracket for a thin LED TV. All my cabling goes into the wall behind the TV and out the bottom behind a unit, so there is no cabling seen from the front at all, not even power.
Just looks like a picture on the wall, and only hangs out a few mm.
My wall mounts are metal. 2 plastic clips screw into the TV for the wire to hang through.
They all have size and weight restrictions, so check first that your TV isn't too big. (50kg, 55" according to OP)
I will always hang my LED this way. Just make sure you find a stud in the wall!!!

    • Sounds like a similar system. The mount points are metal (Aluminium). The connecting wire is similar to bike lock / Kensington lock wire wrapped in soft rubber/pva?

  • Any idea what the 7 digit product number is so we can check other stores?
(I tried zooming in on the pic but couldn't read it)

its very difficult to read from the photo, and I dont have the receipt handy.

The barcode from the box is 9329474037512
Item number from the box is 4360292 <— this may be what you need?

      • Wow, thanks for the quick response.
I think 4360292 might be the one - the first number on the ticket looks like a 4 so will try that.
        Thanks again.

    • Shelf price and scan price = $19.99 at Joondalup WA. :(

  • Older tv's not designed for slim bracket will need a few right angle plugs as any perpendicular connections from the tv rear will hit the wall.

    • I read your post so many times, and couldnt understand what you meant…until, kappow.. got it..
Your talking about the AV/Audio RCA, antenna, power, HDMI connections..
