Hey, dunno if anyone cares but I got this just now with price match at Officeworks, so $22.80 instead of $24 instead of $39 at Apple. Big W has it for $24, don't know why, don't care. :D I'm gunna try out the USB storage option using it.

  • Good price but i prefer to use Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader
saves me having to connect cable to camera, turn camera on to transfer mode etc
although people at apple reviews are saying the sd card reader wont work with ios 7

I wonder if i can buy this one lose the receipt and swap it for the sd card reader

I bought to have USB drive storage, ie extra movies. I love Apple but over their priced up RAM upgrades are @%#** me off!

    • I did not think you could watch movies on the iPad via USB. What program do you use to do this?

      • I think the iPad has to be Jailbroken which allows you to install a 3rd party file viewer app, then which allows to search for a file from a USB drive storage, which can then play in a video player app like VLC…That's how I got it to work on a mates iPad 4th gen

      • I haven't figured it out completely, but apparently you dump movies on a low power USB thumb drive In a DCIM folder on that drive and you can use Camera app or other said apps to read that drive. Here is a link I'm looking at currently that shows apps that can use the USB connection for cameras and audio and other USB things - http://appcrawlr.com/iphone-apps/best-apps-camera-connection…

    • Yeah Apple RAM Upgrades are crazy in terms of high the cost is, I just upgraded my iMac RAM for about $30 from a IT Parts store, and Apple wanted somewhere around $200 for the Apple Branded RAM Upgrade kit - which was Samsung RAM with a Apple sticker on the other side of the RAM stick

      • even MSY tries to sell you apple certified ram when kingston does the trick without any issues.

You are going to be disappointed, since it wont work. It will only let you transfer photos and movies.

      • You can get the Camera Connection kit to import movies (but you can't play direct from the drive). Your movies needs to be in an Apple supported format and be DRM free.

  • This is actually a Lightning to USB cable not Lightning camera adaptor. I have checked with BigW and it is wrongly labeled. Have a look at the other images. They refused to honour the deal.

    • It's in the description as 'Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter' and I just had it honoured at OW. The other images are a mistake.

  • Just imported 'Die Hard', a 1.5GB .m4v (drm free) file into Photos app but couldn't play it directly. It took 30 secs to import, not bad, directly from a USB thumb drive, low power Lacie Key. awesome! Yippy kiyay!

    • That sorta makes sense, after I download a youtube vid with Media Burner and I press the "Save to Album" option it drops the file in the photo section of my ipad.

    • can you play it with VLC app or something? otherwise whats the point of importing die hard?

      • Plays in Photos app directly

    • What's the LaCie key model? You can use a USB hub (unpowered) and connect nonlow power but it adds bulk.

      • It looks like a key, Lacie make them 'imakey' i think they are called.

Just came back from BigW in Miranda (NSW) and they would not honour the deal.

Said the website was in error and the $24 deal is for the Lightning to USB Cable only (not the Camera Connection Kit).

    • That was what I said.
