Motorola MBP36 Digital Video Baby Monitor - $168 AUD (£99.80) Delivered from Amazon UK

90

I was in the market, so I monitored Amazon UK for a price drop.
In Australia this model is normally around $240 upwards. Even on eBay you have to spend over $200. I figure $168 delivered is quite a bargain. It is the top-of-the-range Motorola baby monitor from the latest series.

Main features:

  • Video sensor
  • Baby Monitor with 3.5 inch colour LCD screen and infrared night vision
  • Up to 200 meters range with out-of-range warning
  • 2-way communication
  • High sensitivity microphone
  • Pan, tilt and zoom remotely
  • Built-in lullabies
  • Temperature sensor

Does this come with a sensor pad ?

That would pretty much be the most important feature…

  • Can this be used as a surveillance camera which is placed in the inside of the front window of a house?

    • I don't see why it can't, but I don't see any capability to record on anything, so if you need a record, it might not be the best. After reading some of the 1-star and 2-star reviews, I'm not sure how reliable this product will be (I generally find Amazon reviews overly-uncritical, so that probably means something).

I think baby monitors are pretty overrated, but why pay nearly twice the amount when you could get this one http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Uniden-Portable-Digital-Baby-… ?

apples to oranges. no temp sensor and a few other features on that one you linked.

hasn't found a perfect monitor yet. would be awesome if there's like a stasis chamber (where they continue growing while taking care of the other stuff) you can throw them babies in and pick up in the morning instead.

Depending on your needs, I'd suggest looking into Foscam or similar. They aren't as simple to use but not difficult by any means. Chances are you already have multiple screens for it (phone, tablet, laptop etc) and you're not limited to a single screen.

As a novelty it also has a built in webserver to access the video from anywhere with internet access.

Also gives you the option of wired connection to your router to minimise the radio waves buzzing around rather than putting baby to bed in an alfoil hat.
