Did you notice "Shipping: Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S."?

Also, I guess it comes without warranty unless Logitech offer international warranty.

    • They'll quote me to send to Australia.

    • I had no trouble shipping to Australia.

Also slightly cheaper than $134.68 if you pay in USD, US$121.93 works out to approx $131 with Mastercard.

  • This unit is upgradeable to Squeezebox firmware/software. So will work with anyone's current Squeezebox setup.
Also this comes with a battery, whereas the Squeezebox Radios you had to buy a separate battery if you wanted to make it mobile.

    • Are you sure? When these first got released the general consensus on the Logitech Squeezebox forums was that you could 'downgrade' to the UE firmware, but not back to the SB firmware.

And yes, I did say 'downgrade' to the UE firmware :P Happy SB user here :)

Logitech released a new firmware for the UE radio to give a menu option to upgrade to squeezebox.

Fellow happy SB user here too. 1 boom, 1 radio and 2 duets. I really want to buy this but don't have a use for a second radio :(

      • Good news fellow squeezeboxer! As of June this year you are now able upgrade these rubbish UE devices to perform as they should… as a superior squeezebox radio!

See the announcement here on ye olde slimdevices forum (ignore the treacherous logitech logos):
        http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?99027-Smart-Rad…

I would buy one of these but when I heard that logitech was ceasing production of squeezeboxes I panicked and bought 4 spare radios. So I can't really warrant buying another one despite it being so cheap =(.

Edit: 2 booms, 3 radios, 1 duet, 1 touch *long live squeezebox!

  • Can't be shipped here.

    • Worked for me? Shipping to Perth.

  • Even if it could be shipped here would it run on 240v?

    • Yes, it can be used on 240 volts according to Logitech forum http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Logitech-UE/Voltage-for-UE-Sma…

    • Afaik all the squeezebox devices were designed for global distribution and come with 100-240 volt per supplies.
Plug adapter may be needed though…
My SB boom power supply came with a bunch of different power plugs that can be interchanged.

      • Unfortunately the radios don't come with the different interchangable power plugs like the booms. You can buy a pack of them separately but it's cheaper just to buy a standard universal adaptor.

  • the (lack of) shipping kills it

    • As noted by jonsnow, it can be shipped to Australia. The AUD 134.68 price is made up of AUD 110.45 (US 99.99) for the radio and AUD 24.23 for the shipping to Australia. For USA purchasers, shipping within USA is free.

  • Does it have a sleep function, ie turn off after say 30 minutes?

    • Yes it does - but it doesn't have a dedicated sleep button and thus you have to select it from the menu.
      Default selections are 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes.

HOWEVER you can also reassign a button to do it as well.

Classic Ozbargain. Don't need it, but completed checkout before my brain could tell me this.
In saying that, I have a squeezebox and it's great.. it's worth getting this model for the battery alone.

I wonder how this compares only having a mono single speaker rather than 2 speakers for stereo like the Squeezebox Boom had.

    • Yeah its not as good …

HOWEVER You can buy two radios and have one do the left channel and the other do the right channel! =D

  • Here is a tip to get an Aussie clip on plug adapter that will fit the Logitech power adapter, presuming it is the clip on type like mine.
I bought my radio in the UK and it came with UK and EU plug adapters. Official logitech sellers want an obscene amount for the plug adapter. I bought a AC Charger for Blackberry Bold 9700 Torch 9800 from ebay seller digphone, ditched the charger and unclipped the plug adapter to use on my Logitech Radio. The price $3.99 delivered!

    • Thanks for the tip Jetfixer. I couldn't find the AC Charger you referred to on ebay though. Do you have a link?
      Regards, Drongo.

    • Could I get a link to the ebay listing too please?

  • Wanted one of these for ages. Thanks for bnringing it back to my attention.
