THE GOOD GUYS "Holiday Rewards" scam?

Hello.

Anyone heard of "Holiday Rewards" by GOOD GUYS?:

http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/content/Promo_37

"Spend $500 at Good Guys and get a $500 Holiday Voucher!"

It sounds a bit "Too good to be true", and more like a Scam.

What are the conditions of the Voucher? Is it only applicable if you buy a $5,000 Cruise around the World? ;-)

Anyone had experience with it?

What are the conditions of the Voucher?

"Use your Voucher to save up to 60% on your stay at over 200 hotels in Australia and overseas!"

    • LOL! :-)

Do they increase the price of accommodation if you use their Voucher, as compared to booking it on Wotif.com, etc?

Also, What are the actual '200 hotels in Australia and overseas'? Broken Hill, Darwin and Bogo, Phillipines, etc??? ;-)

If you have to search hard for all this stuff, they are purposely making it hard because it smells like a rip-off and they know it!

Anyone know the actual details of all this stuff?

      Anyone ever used it?

why not actually view the full T&C?

    http://social.thegoodguys.com.au/termsandconditions/ceholida…

For every $500 spent at The Good Guys, you will receive $500 in
Holiday Rewards which may be applied as a partial payment (up to 60% of total cost) towards the cost of your holiday up to a maximum $3,000 worth of Holiday Rewards

ie you need to still pay for 40% or over (as it is only UP TO 60%)

cant really say its a scam because its given for free
at the worst you just dont use the voucher
just dont use it for justification to buy at GG more expensive than somewhere else

    • just dont use it for justification to buy at GG more expensive than somewhere else

      Yep. Exactly right.

My intention was to buy something I could've used (but not was not desperate for) and use it as a holiday as well (if it was free).

For example, a $500 Beer Fridge for the shed. Might go somewhere else, as Good Guys prices aren't the best - especially if I can't get a free holiday!

      • after looking around for white goods recently…found GG not that far off

you will find the one or two odd pieces cheaper elsewhere but that is generally EOL/discontinued or one off/floor items

even if you do find it cheaper elsewhere, GG do price match
its just whether or not you want to go to the trouble to price match
also remember to include delivery in price matching especially if bulky =)

ie i found masters to be cheaper on many items but…75 bucks delivery kills it especially for single items

        Just checked out your posts.

You might not realise it, but the tone of your posts can tend to come across as quite abrupt and impatient. This can be translated as angry. I would suggest you have a re-read through your posts and in the future consider the tone of your posts.

        • Thanks, will consider in future.

          But Who's JV?
