How did you get an iPad 2 64GB 3G for $800 when its three versions behind? You kidding me right?

    • +3

Agree. Please don't compare RRP brand new price 3 years ago. OP should know no one will pay $800 for an ipad2 regardless the capacity and 3G or not.

    • I couldnt find any brandnew ipad 2 64gb 3G model thats why ! also brandnew 3G 16GB is currently $559

also we are talking about BRANDNEW not USED

      • +6

You can't find it because nobody one wants it !

        • No one wants to admit it if they were looking for one

      • +1

Fair enough but please don't compare a 2years old RRP$800.

    • +1

Agreed. Seriously, an iPad2 at almost any price seems crazy at this point.

It baffles me why Apple would want to sell this old ass tech instead of an iPad 3 or 4, and especially at this price.

Spend an extra $100 and get a Wifi iPad Air like i did; there's no 3G, but you can just tether from your phone when you're not on Wifi.

Institutional users. Schools, companies etc that don't need the latest and greatest.

Qantas's 767s are filled with iPad 2s in lieu of a seat back IFE. I can imagine similar things for schools and so on. Besides I bet Apple can offer some sweet discounts for iPad 2s to these bulk institutional buyers.

Not a bargain and not $800 new.

Whats with the L plates next to his name? lol. looks like he needs em

    • +1

L mean he is a first time poster. They change the 1 to L recently to match green and red P

  • +1

    $180 would be considered.

  • +3

    Tough crowd.
    (ps. not a bargain)

  • +5

Steve Jobs just turned in his grave and said "Hey, don't you think that's a bit too much?"

  • Hope the op didn't get one for himself…fail

  • +4

Tough crowd indeed. Maybe a bit silly to compare original RRP but compare this:

    Apple Store are still selling ipad 2 - 16GB wifi + 3G for $598

    This is an ipad 2 - 64GB wifi + 3G for $480.

How is that not a bargain? For those saying no one wants one, plenty of people are STILL buying ipad 2 models, apple are still selling. Not sure when apple discontinued the higher capacity models, so these must have been sitting in a warehouse somewhere.

ETA: OP perhaps remove reference to $800 to appease the masses.

    • +3

Not sure when apple discontinued the higher capacity models

According to this site Every iPad, on or around March 25, 2012.
If this is right, these things have been sitting around for quite some time now!!!

    • Its not a bargain when almost every new feature out of ios7 isnt supported on the iPad 2 (even Siri is not supported). There are high doubts as to future upgradability of this model in the next major release. Why would you want to pay this much for dead end technology?

      • +1

grandma and grandpa wouldn't give a $hit if it was ios 10.

guess this is for that crowd

      • why is this dead end technology without siri is the new ipad that amazing?

        • Didn't you know?? Every new apple is 'Amazing'.

  • Come again? IPad what version??

  • Bargain. Bought 5!

  • +5

Sorry, but if DSE can put out this deal under $350 months ago on the 3rd Gen, then it's absolutely No Deal on this old thing!!!

    • +1

      Not available now.

      • Haven't been available since about an hour after it was posted on here!!! I know, I tried to get one!!!

        • So why compare it to this deal?

        • Because it clearly shows that this near ancient deleted model iPad 2 is way overpriced compared to the lesser ancient iPad 3 deleted model of only a few months ago!!!

        • Yes I understand your point. However your unavailable deal (And was unavailable for most) is useless for someone in the market to buy an iPad today.

  • -1

Wouldn't pay $50 for one. Criminal that they can sell them at this price.

  • -1

I love it when pple post useless crap which, if they bothered to research, would never post in the first place!

  • +4

I'm still waiting on the iPhone 1st gen deal

  • Don't be too hash. Maybe he thought it was a bargain and bought one. Poor guy.

    • +1

He had a few too many hash cakes, that's why he bought one.

  • iPad 2 accounted for 22% of all ipad sales in September 2013

    Source: http://allthingsd.com/20131024/why-is-apple-still-selling-th…

It's still a hit with education and new users.

    • there are some statistics that I just don't want to believe! :)

      • You know what they say…

There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics!

        :)

    • iPad 2 accounted for 22% of all ipad sales in September 2013

So does that mean that the other 78% of sales were the iPad 4 that Apple said it will keep supporting into the foreseeable future?

      • No the mini was also 32% so 46% was iPad 4 but Apple have ceased manufacturing it. Replaced by iPad Air.

iPad 2 has not been replaced so still basically a current model. Although only 16GB available.

        • I didn't even think about the mini.
But iPad 2 in 64GB listed here is different to the ones they're selling today. Check out this link I posted earlier. It ceased production over one and a half years ago now!!!

  • Can't believe this antique is still for sale

  • How much do they want it for?? $480…tell them they're dreaming…

    • +1

This deal is going straight to the pull room!!!

  • +1

shamid202, can you find me a good deal on a brand new Model T Ford ?

    • +2

      I'd buy one for $480.

  • Who in their right mind would be looking to throw away $480 on an I-pad 2?? Useless, out-dated, bad fruit…

  • Comment? Bad deal of price for old tech!!!!!!!!!!
