Is the title missleading? Is it 15% off plus cachback or is the 15% off due to the cashback?

    • +13

15% plus $150 cash back. The price is the price you'll end up paying after cash back.

      $999 - 15% = $849.15

      $849.15 - $150 Cash back = $699.15

      • +2

        That's worth a +1

    • -2

plus it excludes pretty much everything. pointless.

      • It is actually a fantastic sale for camera gear, there is hardly anything excluded.

It includes: Canon, Nikon, Sony (largest market share for the first two). It also is a blanket 15% on these items. You very rarely get 15% off cameras.

  • nice find!

  • Will it be online from midnight??

  • Time to buy 70D

    • Anyone know if JB supply the 70D with 18-135 lens?

      • +1

As far as I know they do not. It may be worth going to Harvey Norman and trying to get them to pricematch for you.

        • Turns out JB can supply the 70D with 18-135. HN wouldn't pricematch because it wasn't on JB's website.

  • Canon 5D MKiii body only - $2770.75 after $200 Canon cash back.

That's a damn good price! If that's the case, I'll be heading in store first thing tomorrow!!

  • keen on the Sony RX100, heard its a excellent camera
    $669 - 15% = $568
take tax if you're heading overseas with 30 days
    which ends up being $510~

Given cost price is $598, pretty sweet deal

  • JB hi fi sells Canon 6D Body Only for 1800 not 1600

    • I think 1600 is after the 15% discount..

    • $1899 less 15% = $1614.15

no gopro :( anyone knows any deals for gopro hero3 black?

Price match at officeworks for further 5% off ;) ?? Total will come down to $656.69

    • they price match % discounts?
and i dont think they sell dslrs

dpesnt specify the lenses but i can see the 55-250 lens in the pic

      • +1

@shadow131 : They have the exact same model (click the link in my post ;) ). Model number: CA700DTKIS (CA probably stands for Canon, which I believe is something OW added). Their Lowest Price Guarantee policy doesn't say they don't match % discounts, what they don't match are:

        • Non identical products and services (inclusive of non identical warranties)
        • Package deals i.e. printer and computer bundles
        • Cash back and coupon offers
        • Resellers
        • Customer special orders
        • Contract Pricing
        • Competitor clearance products

I don't think a % discounts falls in to any of those restrictions.

        • Can i add special order to the list OW doesn't price match

        • I phoned OW last week to price match the Good Guys 700d deal and they told me they wouldn't match on a special order - would only do it if they had the item in stock and since they didn't stock it at any of their stores they wouldn't price match.

Having now bought at the GG price I'm hoping that the GG Price Guarantee will work (refund 120% of the difference if cheaper price elsewhere within 30 days.

  • +1

anyone know if this is confirmed? the prices arent showing on their website - I know the listing says it starts tomorrow but its not from any official source?

  • Have Canon improved the speed of their EOS-M sensor yet!?

    • +1

Improved since release or improved since their first improvement?

Either way, I believe the twin lens kit from Ryda is the best deal for the EOS-M for local stock still.

      • Since the firmware update

        • +1

To my knowledge, no. There's only ever been 1 firmware update to improve AF that I've heard of.

You may want to check on the EOS-M thread on whirlpool… lots of activity there.

  • Regarding TRS claim for purchase over $1000, does JB hifi tax invoice actually show your name & address?

    • I know Dick Smith does (if you manage to price match with them)

      • Dicksmith doesn't have the camera I want. As far as I know JB hifi tax invoice doesn't show name & address so might have a problem when later on claiming TRS for goods over $1000

    • Credit card receipts should always have your name. Unlikely to have your address - where would they get it from?

  • Hello all , camera house has the same for $599 after $150 cash back.

    • Link please!

    • thats single lense kit

  • I am after a canon s120 which jbhifi is selling it for $499.. Few other places are selling it for $399 so not the cheapest even after the 15% discount.

    • Any reason to get the S120 over the S110? They didn't really improve on much and the S110 will be $254 tomorrow at JB. I bought two for by Dad and bro at that price at the last sale.

      • What's the low light performance like on the S110 ? thinking of getting one tomorrow…

I know the S120 doesn't have the rapid burst which the S110 does.
        or is it the S100…

        That's a function I want..

        • Haven't exactly played around too much with the S110 so can't comment on the rapid burst thingo (I do recall it might be there… I did take 3-6 continuous shots at one point).

S120's low light performance is a tad better at the wide end I'd imagine since at 24mm equiv it's f/1.8 rather than f/2.0… but the difference is marginal. Other options like the RX100 or EOS-M will perform better.

I'd recommend the Fujifilm XF1 but too many people have reported lens issues for me to fell happy to recommend it (I would buy one myself if it wasn't for the lens issues).

But for pocketability, build quality and performance at this price, the Canon S110 easily wins.

    • The RX100 is a much better compact for a few extra dollars compared to the s120.

The s110 might be better for the price.

      • Still a bit more than a few dollars for the RX100. It retails for ~$560 local stock at best (that I've seen). S120 can be had for just under $375 at JB this weekend. That's 2/3rds the price of the RX100 only.

        • There's a few eBay power sellers offering it around $530 including Australian warranty but yeah that's still more than a few dollars more, guess I was a little liberal with the saying.

Personally I think that the RX100 is double the camera of the s110/s120 and well worth the price difference over the s120, maybe not so for the s110 price vs performance wise.

  • I'm still after a canon 700D with a 18-135 STM lens.
    Does jb do this kit?

  • The Canon 700D with the lens, that is a real bargain.

    Cheers.

  • With TRS and the return trip, dont forget to forget what you have in your bag.

    • watcha mean but that?

  • I wish they had the better lens kit with the 700d

wonder if this will get ozb'ed

  • Jb HiFi told me they give 1 year Canon warranty n 2nd year onward I've to buy.. Other websites say 2 years canon warranty. Perth city store told me this. Can anyone confirm ?

    • +1

      It's 2yrs now… as of 1st Nov I believe.

  • no online discount yet……
Cant find a 70D in city or down south………..

  • has anyone bought with this price yet? please up the receipt so that we can buy from others

  • 700d gone already ? Ffs

    • Ozbargained.

  • +1

Ok just picked up a 700d twin kit at jb for $849.00
Now just have to claim the $150 cash back from canon.

The 700d with the 18-135 STM lens is a special order and not avail for the 15% discount.

  • unbelievable, already sold out

  • I rang up JB and had them put one aside in store for me, since they were showing up as unavailable online. Just picked it up for $841. Can't upload receipt sorry

  • +1

just got a Canon 70D 18-55 SLK - $1254.00 at Merrylands jb. After Canon $150 cash back and TRS claim(about $125), this camera kit willbe less than $1000!

  • Got a 700D from Kedron QLD, $849

  • I got the 700D from JBs at Westlakes (SA) today for 781. I didn't push the price, just asked if they could do any better. Also worth mentioning is the Sony HX50V is an awesome deal at the moment through JBs with this 15% off makes it $339.15, which is by far the cheapest bricks and mortar retailer price I've seen for this model.
    Oh, and THANKS OP! :)

    • 700d twin kit as in op??

      • +1

Yeah, the one with the twin lens kit, 18-55 & 55-250mm
Edit: oops, I see where your excitement came from, sorry, I don't know where I plucked my price from!! It was $841! so a further $8 off.

        • $60 is a lot.
If you got it for $781 I would like a copy of receipt. ;)

  • Might I also add, it's nice to finally see a cash back promo where you have the option to upload receipts rather than posting them in!

  • FOR THOSE WHO THINK THEY MISSED THE DEAL ***********
The deal that I got might be of interest to you.
Went to the local store and they only had a display model. I refused to take it. They said they can order from canon and I've to wait for a few days to get it, to which I agreed. Paid in full and got the receipt with the discounted price and a lay by agreement saying that I've to pay $20 if I want to break the deal.

Add to that I got a price match with RYDA.COM.AU for 600EX RT. But all will arrive after 1/2 weeks.
So get in tomorrow and try this at your local JB.
It could also be possible because of the high end camera and lense I bought.
    Hope this helps.

If anyone is after the 5D Mark III body only from any JB Sydney City let me know, I can get it for under $2,650 and am happy to help out. Only thing is I need to be physically present in store when you place the order and you'll have to pay cash (which is not ideal if for example you have a platinum credit card which gives you 12 months extra warranty, 90 days theft/breakage warranty, 55 days interest free, etc). Disclaimer: I don't work for JB, but I know a secret handshake lol

    • 2650 after cash back or before??

      • After cashback, I don't own the place. Lol. Actually helped a fellow ozbargainer out, it came to just over $2600 (after cashback), plus he'll claim TRS GST too so should get another $230 odd back, bringing it down to about $2370!!. He was chuffed and paid for my parking :)

    • The stonecutters?

  • If anyone need it the Canon 700D twin kit is available at Glen Waverley JB HI

  • Might be a stupid q, but if you buy from JB Hi-Fi online with store pickup, are you able to take it to any store under warranty ?

  • CAN SOMEBODY CONFIRM.
Does the Canon 70D for example include a 15% discount + $150 CASHBACK?
The 15% off ends tonight, but i don't know if they actually activated it with the 70D camera.
So tomorrow, the normal price will increase?
    Much thanks!

    • yes they did, please read my examples…

      Canon 70D 18-55 SLK - $1114.80 after $150 Canon cash back.
Canon 70D body only - $1039.15 after $150 Canon cash back.

as you said, last night tonight for 15%. After this youll only get the $150 cash back

  • +1

    Got a Canon 6D with a 50mm 1.4 for $2000

With cashback thats $1800. Great deal :)

  • Picked up a Canon EOS 5D MK III with EF 24-70 f2.8 II USM for $4,844.15 (was $5,699) after the 15% sale at JB this weekend.

I will then redeem the $200 back from Canon.

I am also going away overseas in January so will claim TRS as well.

    So $4,844.15 - $200 (From Canon Rebate) - $440.37 (From TRS) = $4203.78

So a saving of $1,495.22 off JB's normal price.
