Cadbury 250g chocolate varieties: $2.99 - Save 40% (Sydney)

80

Woolworths is promoting its clearance (paper-wrapped) 250g 'special variety' lines at my local, at aisle-ends.

Examples exclude the standard Dairy Milk variety (now 200g, in box), but include Caramello 250g, Marble 250g (milk & white choc blend w. hazelnut praline) and others.

Was $4.97, now $2.99, save $1.98.
(Not as good as the 250g block for $1.99 mentioned previously, but best of the rest in Sydney).

Is there a reason for the blocks to be downsized by 20% besides corporate greed?

    • Environmental purposes? Cardboard being heavier than paper making up for the 50 grams?

      • Now they can kill twice as many trees with the 150gsm packaging!

  • wow the normal RRP for a 250gm block is $5? Talk about a rip!

    • $5 for a 200gram now :(

  • I bet Cadbury will still use the old 'glass and a half of full dairy cream milk' in its ads, despite the 20% (stealth) price rise / package reduction.

    • I don't think they've used that in years, have they?

  • Look at the 'glass and a half' on the packaging! I've opened the Marble block (a bit too sweet IMO) and the 1.5 glasses are on the front of the pack.
I think it's still used in the 'eyebrows' kids ad on high TV rotation, too.
