Cool :D I will be getting my Zelda 3DSXL this saturday and will buy Pokemon Y for my sister (also have Layton coming for xmas =) )

    • +2

I'm getting the Zelda 3DS XL as well! I've never played Zelda before so I wasn't too sure about paying a $270 premium for an LE console and ALBW, but with this Mario deal, I'm a bit more satisfied with my purchase.

      • Promo starts Nov 27. Hold off registering it for a week.

        • Hold up, just re-reading that promo again. I already have a 3DS(OG), can I register my new 3DSXL and game to the same Club account and still get the free SM 3D Land Game? Or do I need to create a new club account?

        • -1

Just to confirm if i'm on the right track,
For those who are buying the ZELDA 3DSXL special console that comes with the game wont be able to register their console + game till the promotion starts which means they wont be able to play LOZ:ALTBW till the 27th In order to get Mario 3d land for free?
          Is that right?

        • No, that's not correct.

It will not work if you did not purchase your 3DS and Game in the regions mentioned.

AU Nintendo Club codes are different to their ones.

        • that's not a reason to neg. people buy ds from amazon and other imports. this will allow them to consider importing

        • But it says Australia?

        • it says if you resident in Australia, doesnt say from a local store in AU.

This can only be redeemed if you buy a UK console!! it states in the TC "You must have registered two products: (i) a Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 3DS XL system (European version; Nintendo 2DS excluded)"

European consoles are not sold in AU stores like dicksmith or big W. AU sells their own AU version which uses a different nintendo club codes ( the cards look different too)

        • You don't have to register the game/console to use/play it. I bought a game a year ago and only registered it a few weeks ago.

        • Yea but the game that comes with this console is a downloadable game so I would assume you will need to register the code before you can download it

        • Oh, right. Not sure if the download code is separate for the Nintendo Club points.

        • Edit: nevermind, was posted already

        • +1

They've either changed the TC or you were reading from the UK site. It now says:

"You must have registered two products distributed by the Promoter in Australia or New Zealand: (i) a Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 3DS XL system (Nintendo 2DS excluded"

So if you've bought an Aus 3ds, it will still work with this promotion.

        • Yeah the link was to the UK site previously. Looks like Nintendo AU finally cottoned on to the promo! 2 days to go :D

  • +1

so this is a no go for 2ds owners?

  • +1

But I already own it ? D: Wish they had other games to choose from.

    • They are using the game to promote Super Mario 3D World.

    • Yeah same! I've had it for ages. GAH.

Maybe I can sell the code for something I want like MH3U.

  • Nice….guess I'll have to make a 2nd Club Nintendo account for my bro's 3DS XL…

    Hmm…Nintendo Australia's website hasn't said a word about this promo…

    • +1

Nintendo Australia aren't really renowned for being quick off the mark

      • +6

Theyre the most useless mob representing a quality company that I have ever seen.

  • :O I am pleased, this is my pleased face :D

  • So How will this work for existing 3DS / Club Nintendo members?

I have a 3DS XL that will be doing a system transfer to my zelda 3ds XL. do I need to hold this off untill the 27th?

    • Just don't register the new 3ds, not really sure but I think you can't register 2 of the same systems. I don't know if the zelda 3ds xl will be any different than a normal 3ds xl.

  • now to find a place to buy cheap 3ds

    • -2

Just to get SML for free?

      • Some people like Pokemon, others like Mario. You should have seen the sheer number of Gumtree 3DS wanted listings just before/after the release of Pokemon X/Y…

  • If I bought my 3DS in Canada… will I still be able to use this?

    • Don't think so, considering that the consoles are region locked.

      • Oh :( Wonder if there is a promo for the US then… anyone know how to find out?

  • don't get your hopes high guys. from my knowledge. this only works if you buy a uk 3ds console. all 3ds bought in au go under the au Nintendo club (which gives hardly any promotion). if you want this deal u need to import a ds from amazon or something. those bought in stores won't count

    • I'm pretty sure of this now as it says in the TC you need a european version of the console.
ps: you'll also need a uk version of the game

      • +1

The T&C says Australia is eligible.

        http://www.nintendo.co.uk/Campaigns/SUPER-MARIO-3D-LAND-Welc…

Pretty sure Australia gets the 'European' 3DSs aswell since we are PAL land.

        • Wonder why New Zealand misses out, I mean…our Club Nintendo is joined after all..

        • Because our club nintendo is useless. They dont organise anything.

        • Nintendo Australia looks after Nintendo in nz…

        • well gl with that. the last time uk had the "so many games" promotion, it was uk games only.

    • Nintendo of Europe GmbH SUPER MARIO 3D LAND Welcome Promotion Terms & Conditions

If you are under 18, please read these Terms and Conditions together with your parent or legal guardian.
To participate in the promotion, you have to be a resident of the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland, South Africa, Australia, or Russia.
You must have registered two products: (i) a Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 3DS XL system (European version; Nintendo 2DS excluded) and (ii) one out of fifteen eligible games in Club Nintendo at www.club-nintendo.com between 27th November 2013, 15:01 (UK time) and 13th January 2014, 22:59 (UK time). The eligible games are:

      • the key line being, " a Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 3DS XL system (European version; Nintendo 2DS excluded) "

        • Then why would it be open to us? That wouldn't make any sense, how many people here would be buying a 3DS from Europe.

European = PAL, which is the same region as us. It's just differentiating from NTSC-U and NTSC-J.

    • I think the Zelda 3DS is from a different region considering they're providing a power plug. Is the UK and Europe versions different?

  • Uhhh. You're kidding me right. I bought a 3DS a few days ago and already registered it..

    • I decided to wait as the promo when I bought mine was Animal Crossing which I already have.
And the waiting worked, but I already have this game too.

      • What do I do? Should I contact Nintendo? This is pretty ridiculous, surely they'll cut me some slack here. I mean the idea is that you register a device as soon as you buy it, why should I be penalised for that :/

        • You could try, yeah.
Although the promo doesn't start til next week, you were only a few days out from actually hearing about it and being able to hold off registering.

        • Yeah I've just fired off an email. Can only hope they'll be forgiving. And yeah your position also kinda sucks, be nice if you could at least choose from a few games. Hate feeling cheated when you're a loyal customer :<

        • -8

Doesn't work if you bought your 3DS in AU anyway.

        • Maybe call Nintendo next time before down voting?

        • -1

So 3DS was bought ages ago but haven't been registered, it will still be eligible for this offer?

    • I got one for my wife a while back, but just registered last week. Argh

  • +1

Damn it! I saved my 3DS XL's club nintendo code hoping a free game promo would come up, but I already own Super Mario 3D Land!
    What!

    • Give it away perhaps? Sell it if you must. You only have till next March to use/get rid of it.

      • -6

Why March 2014? Is that when nintendo club codes expire or just this particular game code?

        • Use your download code in Nintendo eShop before 22:59 (UK time) on March 13th 2014 to download SUPER MARIO 3D LAND for free!

    • As do I. I don't see the issue really…just don't register it and wait for a future promotion.

      • True, I'll just wait.

  • Wait what there are 7 MARIO KARTS? Seriously?

    • +2

      N64 was the best one.

      • +1

No way, battle mode was the best on SNES. My brother and I killed hours on the original Mario Kart.

      • +2

        double dash!

  • I've got 4 of those games, unregistered. But if I give them away I lose club nintendo points. What to do, what to do?

    • +1

Give me one, the prizes in the Nintendo Australia store are really cruddy anyways.

      • He's right, they are awful.

  • Could they force me to update my firmware to be able to download the game from eshop? I don't think I can use my flash card if I upgrade the firmware.

    • +1

Yes, you have to be up to date to access the eShop.

  • wow. was about to register then noticed it starts the 27th…

  • this is goood but for some reason when i tried to register my 3ds and pokemon game last month nintendo didnt let me, they told me the codes are expired but the system and the game are new.. so weird

  • I wonder if Nintendo will do this promo again for Mario Kart 7 when it's close to the Mario Kart 8 release date.

  • Pretty good deal. Like a few others here, will be getting the Zelda edition 3ds then doing a system transfer and may pick up Bravely Ddefault. Already have a physical copy of Mario 3D though (and registered its club points) so not sure if it'll work, but if so I'll give my copy to a friend as a roundabout Christmas re-gift.

  • Does anyone know if this will work for consoles purchased from other EU countries such as Germany or Italy?

And it is for regstering physical copies of the game right?

    • According to the first line of the bargain post, yes.

  • .

  • If anyone picks up a spare copy next week I'd be willing to purchase it off them.

    • As in, you'll want to buy the download? I'm not really a huge Mario fan so I'll probably try sell it if it works and it's transferable.

      • Yeah if it's transferable then let me know. I'm just thinking back to the Animal Crossing offer a few months back, so I'm hoping it'll be similar (can be gifted). Cheers! Oh I'm only after one copy, so I'll buy whichever offer comes in first, sorry!

        • Oh, I see. Yeah, would be happy to sell. I also have the Link Between Worlds download code to sell if you were interested. Not sure how much people usually sell it for…

        • sorry to ride your post here, but i'd also be interested in buying a code as well if they happen to be transferable.

        • Chuck me a message, we can work out a price.
They'll definitely be transferable, always have been.

    • +1

I'll keep that in mind as I already own a physical copy of the game :)

      • Thanks in advance :) Although I'm only after one copy, so I'll buy whichever offer comes in first, sorry!

  • it will be transferable, as itl only be a download code they send you, T&C state can be used on any 3DS / XL console. im looking myself to possibly purchase if i dont pick it up myself, anyone with a spare copy they registers lemme know with price and we can discuss from there!

  • Yeah I'm dev. I bought a Pokemon X/Y themed 3ds xl just after its launch and the game itself. Had I Known they do promos like this I would of held off registering. Owell, if anyone is willing to sell the code I'll happily purchase.

  • +4

To all the doubters, Nintendo Australia has made it official on their website.

    http://www.nintendo.com.au/super-mario-3d-land-welcome-promo…

Make sure you hold off on rego before the 28th of November.

    • yeah…it took Nintendo Australia 12 hrs longer than Belgium's nintendo site to put up the promotion.

      They're just too slack.

  • I bought a Mario 3D Lands edition 3DS XL from Amazon UK for $228 shipped a few months back. If I register, is the Mario 3D lands code transferable to another 3DS?

    • The code won't be locked to your console, no.

  • Soon to be new 3DS owner :D (awaiting Zelda 3ds console)
Q: Can we actually register 3ds game bought from UK in OZ Nintendo site?

    • Definitely not as the Australian Club Nintendo will not recognise the console's SKUs.

  • -2

Nintendo is relying mostly on Pokemon, mario and zelda to sell its consoles. I honestly cannot think of anything I want from Nintendo other than these games.

  • So I bought the White 3DS XL + Mario Kart bundle 6 months ago from amazon UK, but never registered anything. Just checked my box, and there are two cards, one for the console and one for Mario Kart. Lucky!

It's a UK console, but can it be registered on either the UK or AU club nintendo sites? If so, which would I be better off registering the 3DS and game to?

Can someone please clarify. I know UK and AU are both PAL, but I'm confused as to whether the UK club nintendo cards are different to AU ones. I remember the club nintendo cards in UK Gamecube/Wii games not being compatible with the AU club nintendo..

    • You'd have to register to the UK Club Nintendo

Then in order to claim the game you'd have to simply change your 3DS's account setting to UK if you haven't already, then enter the code.

    • +1

Make sure you actually stick with one eShop. Nintendo will be releasing a firmware that will disable region switching.
