LOL… Nothing to worry about at all.
Guess how many are monitoring your computer habits right now and have been for years?
Welcome to the digital world :-)

BTW… This is a hot deal for a quality set with those specs and includes delivery too.
      Thanks Mr Earth :-)

So we aren't the only country spying :)

      • Should seek explanation from LG ? I suppose :))

        • You do also realise that everywhere you go with your mobile phone you can be tracked? Something else to lay awake about LOL.

  • Disappointed it wasnt for a product selling at $1100 or 1100c as per post 1000

Well done for all your contributions!
You are clearly a 'power user'

  • I wouldnt buy LG smart TVS. They store your channel viewing data without your discretion.

    http://doctorbeet.blogspot.ru/2013/11/lg-smart-tvs-logging-u…

    • DOH… Someone already posted this above :-(

  • Honestly those data-mining comments are kinda off-putting despite becoming a more common thing. Still it seems more like a google-apple type of move to be honest…..

    • If you knew the amount of info that is gathered about people and their habits you would run away and live in a cave..

      • ….reminds me about a story of a 55-gallon drum of lube……..

  • I only watch downloaded movies & TV and play games, so I don't care to much about LG collecting my habits. What about the TV quality ?

    • Had a lot of TVs fail on me over time and the only quality ones I have had a good run out of were LG's.

Currently, this TV is $1389 with The Good Guys: http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/LG_Electronics_55%22(139cm)_FHD_LED_LCD_100Hz_Smart_TV_55LN5710

This purchase would make you eligible for the $140 store credit for purchases between 1000-1699

    http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/content/store_credit…

If you purchased it at $1389 and claim your free credit, you can then ring back once your order arrives and get them on their 'Best Price guarantee' where they will refund you 120% of the difference.

    Ie 1389-1266 = $123. Multiply by the 120% = $147.60 they will refund you.

So, you will technically get the TV for $1241.40 + a $140 voucher to use on something else :-)

    • A+ for that one… You OzBargainer you!! :-)

  • Thanks for letting me know.. LG I feel like I have been raped by a digital D&$@

    • It happens everywhere… most often with the computer you are sitting at right now LOL..
      The sky is falling… :-(

FWIW I went into a dick smith the other day to check out TVs. LG's stood out as being brighter and clearer and having better viewing angles… I'm very tempted by this deal but the ozbargainer in me is refusing to pay more than $1k for a TV. I like 31mop's idea above though, effectively brings it down to $1,101.40… Not bad. Though not sure I would get away with it here in WA coz its not free shipping to W.A. so that might give TGG a way out of it.. Probably better off just asking them to price match it for you so you still get the $140 card. For me in W.A. at least.

    • Just go in and buy it regardless of price and then go back in a few days later and they'll refund the difference.

Guess LG is majorly concerned with how much time I spend watching HDMI1…

    • mmm, after all most people do use a external media device to play movies…..I use at least 2 openelec/xbmc set-ups myself :)
