  • Pretty good. These guys were on the recent eBay Sunday night deals page, which goes live in 45 minutes. They might be part of it again.

  • Finally bought one its the one ive been waiting for so long

Seems to be a good deal.

However if there are hardware defects with the phone, will local Apple store look after it?

    I guess not…

    • +1

not even if you paid them for the usual replacement fee. Been burnt by it before with an international stock one which was a cdma iphone instead of gsm so apple australia wouldnt replace it since they dont have cdma parts. They also wont swap CDMA for GSM

Good news everyone! It will blend (spoiler)

    • Holy Phucking Ch%!$&

Looks like a fake video… 2 blenders, one blending about 4 phones and the other blending only 1 phone, yet the amount of dust appears to be the same from both blenders!

  • Well don't think you would need a receipt cause the phone only came out 2months ago, take it to the store and they will repair it. If its old stock then That might be w problem ,phone 5s is newly released product.

No the Australian Apple stores will not repair iphone's that have come out of Hong Kong. This has been spoken about before when Kogan was selling the iPhone 5 for $100 cheaper than local stock. My iphone has had plenty of issues and as such, would recommend just copping the extra $100

      • Are you sure about that, because according to this:

        http://www.crn.com.au/News/315769,how-kogan-can-sell-the-iph…

"Apple confirmed Kogan’s iPhones are still serviceable at Apple stores under its global one-year warranty."

"Update 4:04pm: Kogan has since said it will be able to resolve any issues with devices imported from Hong Kong locally."

        • Apple Australia won't cover these phones, been plenty of threads on whinepool to confirm this.

        • Well it depends.

If the model number of the HK phone is the same as an Australian phone, they will replace it.

However if the model number is not identical, they will not.

        • If the model number of the HK phone is the same as an Australian phone, they will replace it.

Interesting. However, I have found that the first thing Apple does is check the IMEI number. This shows from what market the phone was purchased.

The seller has included details about the warranty:-

"Item come with 1 Year Apple Hong Kong Warranty"

So, phones would have to be returned to Apple in Hong Kong for any in Warranty support and for any out of warranty replacement. You would need a trip to Hong Kong or some Hong Kong friend/relative.

  • You should try this space grey one for $434.50 … unfortunately found it too late … listing already ended … (but might get cancelled anyway) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Apple-iPhone-5S-Silver-16GB-Unloc…

    • haha yeah, i saw people buying this for 432.50 and the price was 1,432.50 and i kept looking on page after awhile it was at $434.50 and i bought one lucky me, best deal and bargain ive had in my life.

Hope they dont cancel it cause 103 people bought it and might be out of stock!!!!

    • Wow! Wonder if it was legit…

      • Yes it was legit, they had it advertised on their facebook page and the email went out from ebay at 7pm with it advertised. I cannot believe the price, amazing :)

        • Nice. I'm an idiot and pondered for about 60 seconds on the gold one before refreshing and seeing it sold out :(

edit: seems my crappy timing is not so bad after all and got one on the 2nd round. Sweet.

  • If you buy AppleCare you get global warranty. You just need to pretend your travelling in Australia when you bring it in for repairs.

  • Better to buy aussie stock with few more money just for peace of mind.

    • Maybe these are dummy display items? ;-)

    • A few more money = how much more in exactly $ and cents?

  • If you are lucky, and can claim back gst Aussie stock could potentially end up cheaper anyways. :)

  • Hei guys, they posted another listing with 434.50, better be quick!
