20% off is actually a better offer because of the minimum shipping is $39.99.

    • i had $102.97 of stuff in my cart from the last 20% off code. then, was only getting $20.59 discount.

now i'm getting $25 off and shipping is/was still $39.99

Shipping and handling is 28% of the net order total or a minimum of $39.99.

      • To effectively "utilise" the minimum shipping cost of $39.99, you need to spend about $142 otherwise you would be paying higher than 28% of your total purchase, e.g when you spent $102.97, the shipping cost of $39.99 is actually 38.8%. The less you spend, the higher % the shipping cost would be.

So yes, when you spend less than $142, the $25 off coupon works better, but considering a high percentage of the money you pay is on the shipping, not on the actual goods, I personally would not place an order below $142.

that's a good point. and why i mentioned in the OP that $25 off may only be better for some as opposed to 20% off.

but personally, i aim to only buy the stuff i need, which just happens to be $102.97. not too thrilled about buying a $40 t shirt, for example, in order to pay less for shipping.

all this only illustrates how derp their shipping calculation policy is.

  • Obviously I have just missed this deal. Is there any chance that you (REP)could post another deal? I'm planning on purchasing a few pair of shoes. Thanks in advance!

    • i'm not the store rep, btw (there'd be a little REP graphic next to my name if i was) but when there's another eastbay discount code again it'll be posted on OzBargain :)

      • Thanks!
