is the HE-400 worth double the HE-300?
I listen to mostly RnB/Hip Hop with the occasional drum n bass.
I had my mind set on ATH-m50 for a while but never got around to purchasing them, now that the HE-300 is about the same price I don't know what to get.
I've never listened to open back cans before either :)
Anyone care to shed some light?

Are you referring to the HE-400? $299 is the discounted price. Normal price is $400.
