Readr for iPad 10000+ Magazines for 6.5 Months US $7.50

40

The iPad app Readr can be purchased for US$2.50 per month for 3 months (Normally US$9.99 per month) using the code BLKFRI75 After that time it does auto charge your credit card. You also get a free week.

Being a Black Friday deal I imagine it ends soon.

Supposedly 10000 plus magazines available (multiple countries & languages). I've found it has quite a lot of good US and UK ones. One you have a subscription it's open slather. Even without one you get 20 minutes per month.

Someone pointed out that the Stacksocial offer (same deal, but free) is still going for a few days so a better option.

Just noticed the StackSocial code is valid till March 10th 2014 so you could get that with a different email address and use it after the BlackFriday deal finishes. So 6.5 months for US$7.50.

  • Good deal. Having checked this out before, a lot / majority of main stream magazines are missing, but on the upside there's lots of magazines you'll never see at your local newsagent.

  • any one use this?
is it worth the monthly fee?

If you sign up via Stack Social you can actually get 3 free months saving $29.97 on normal prices or $7.50 on this deal. You wll still have to enter credit card details and do a Twitter/Facebook like/spam.

    Deal ends in 3 days.

Just signed up but not got my iPad with me to actually use it. If you get access to older issues sounds a really good deal. 2 magsazines I currently buy are displayed on the site so sounds like could be saving from the start.

    • i tried completing step 1 for getting this freebie but it doesnt show it as completed.
can you please let us know what did you do to complete steps required for this freebie on stack social?

      • Sorry I had already completed Step 1 from a previous offer. Maybe try creating a new account like someone below had to do.

  • Once you stop paying subscription do you lose access to the magazines you've already read/downloaded?

  • The Stacksocial is a better way to do this. I did it about 2 months ago and found it quite good. Even considering paying once the freebie finishes. I tried getting this deal on the free StackSocial deal account I got but couldn't find a way to do it, so got it with a different email address.

Worth it if you find a couple of mags you like, any more are a bonus. Even with the free time you could read a few mags. I think once your sub runs out you still have access (particularly if you turn off the 'auto delete after a certain amount of time' option), but limited to the 20 minutes per month.

Really odd that they have it for ios and BlackBerry but no android. still a great deal though +1

  • Just asking the obvious, but as getting this deal requires the use of 2 email addresses and sign ups why not just sign up for the free ss deal, then sign up again on the same fee deal in 3 months with different email for another free 3 months making the deal completely free for 6 months?

    • Both deals finish soon (days).
