No deal… get's SMOKED by almost anything on the market. G526 for $99/DSE/Vodafone or even the Huawei Y300 at about $90 comes to mind. Bad ram, slow CPU, old Android. Only good thing is 'Gorilla Glass' screen and 5MP camera.

    • I have to agree with kronicmacstigator. My work issued these to all workers and though initially we were happy, the low RAM and slow CPU made this phone operate like a dumb phone.

It's OK if you do not plan to install apps (or minimal apps) and use the phone to only make calls and SMS. Otherwise, it is a piece of junk.

not a good comparison.. where is the G526 for $99?

Very very recently DSE had the G526 for $99. Gone now of course, but was so very recent I thought it was an 'apt' comparison

If you can find a G526 for $99 again, please, tell us all.. :P

I would've bought more if I'd known it was going to be such a good phone!

      • I'm waiting as well, but figured it was so recent it'd be a worthwhile comparison

yes, where is $99 for G526, it deserve its own deal and please do not hit and run :)

Nowhere… but the DSE deal was so recent I thought it'd be a good comparison

The Y300 has gorilla glass too and, as you say, runs rings around these things, for just $10 more. Gingerbread alone is enough of a deal-breaker. The Y300 has been on special for $89 or $99 in plenty of places recently, picked one up for $89 in the Target $10 off sale not long ago.

  • I would just get this:

Both crap both better than nothing

  • Anyone know if I buy this phone would I be able to use TPG $1 sim in it as TPG uses optus network too
