Previous deal at B&H was posted by me here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/119756 I notice B&H have sweetened the pot by about $30 since last time I looked. Since B&H sell so much stuff, buying some other stuff along with the ActionCam will probably make the postage more worthwhile.

USD $129.99 for the unit alone is the lowest price I've seen on this unit from a reputable retailer.

  The (replacement) AS30V with LCD case was $305 recently at Good Guys and JB. Has inbuilt GPS if that's of any benefit. Seemed a bit laggy on some of the youtube clips I watched

    I got the AS15 for $120 as per an Ozbargain post a few months back, and recently got the AS30 for $199 (both Aus stock) - both are good, indeed in terms of video quality I would defy most people to tell which camera produced which footage, except maybe in certain underwater conditions :-)

    The new features include the aforementioned GPS, and also NFC, higher MP stills, etc

    The old model actually has a case that is rated at a much greater depth, the newer case is smaller and has better stereo sound…

  I have this camera. Output is fantastic. My only issue with the Sony is the lack of mounts locally.

    Sony Australia have pretty much the entire range of mounts locally, and will deliver pretty much anywhere in Australia for little or no cost :

    (some have sold items out in the last week due to a sale, but are expected to be back in stock late December or early January)

        (I posted about being able to get the new iPads a few hundred dollars cheaper than normal recently and got negged to oblivion, despite the fact that was actually accessible to pretty much anybody who could be bothered going through a few hoops)

  I use it since 2 years and I'm super happy with it. You can watch some videos for comparison. In general the difference to the more affordable GoPros is that you have high FPS videos, but the night shots are not as good. A great camera for the price, don't see a difference to the GoPros of my friends, which spent 3 times as much on their cameras.

    Agreed - that's how I got the camera for $120 (or actually $109 with the GST refund), I just split the cost with someone who wanted the phone :-)

  Beauty of the Sony seems to be the Standard 1/4" Tripod Mount thread, so endless mounting options once you have Waterproof or Skeleton Case. RAM mounts come highly regarded by Sony US. You can also get a cheap adapter to mount to GoPro type clevis mount
