60

Online rep said they can take off the "monthly handset cost" making this Samsung Galaxy S3 - 4G on $30 Plan.

  • It has better network over Vodaphone.

  • Rollover credit facility:

Any unused included value in a given month will roll over to the
following month only, and is used once the following month’s
included value is exhausted. Your first month’s included value will
be pro-rated according to the date of your first bill or the date you
upgraded or changed your rate plan.

$7 monthly fee on $30 plan. I think vodaphone had it for free on $30 plan.

    • yep, i think rollover credit facility and better coverage are huge difference :)

      • Their coverage is not that significantly better than Vodafone though. Telstra has the best coverage, the rest are same.

        • Maybe in your neighbourhood.

Here in regional city Victoria (Ballarat), the step up from Schmoadafone to Optus was huge when I finally made the jump, about 4 years ago.

Have they made a massive change in regional coverage since then? I really don't know, I'm too burnt to ever go back and find our.

For sure, Telstra is the one to have… if you want to spend the $$. But the rest certainly weren't the same last time I compared.

      • well the same plan for telechoice is only $10 per month and make the handset replacement in fact $20 per month, 20x24=480 and guys you all more than welcome check how much an S3 in Kogn or before office work was doing i think 369. so workout yourself.

        Plus we using telstra network

  • its 0 per month on a 30 plan if your upgrading your existing virgin plan…

  • 200mb of data / month for $37.

    Thank you Virgin.

    • I'm detecting sarcasm…..no?

Is that even enough for imessage ???

      • I'm not saying the deal is spectacular but in regards to the 200mb, it is enough. I leave it on 24/7 and I use it for imessaging, whatsapp, basic browsing, emails, clash of clan and several viber calls. I guess it comes down to how much you use but 200mb is definitely enough for basic use (the meaning of basic could also vary from person to person lol).

    • Damn. I'm coming to the end of my Red Bull 15 months unlimited + 5gb per month for $365 and this type of deal is what I can look forward to….

  • Roll over credit is positive point with virgin over vodafone.

  • Another option is to buy the handset outright from say Kogan etc and get a plan from TPG etc. It works out cheaper PLUS you get price/merchandise protection on the handset. A friend cracked the screen on his brand new Z1 and Telstra was not interested in hearing about it. Sony's advised that it will cost $400 for the screen. Because he was on a plan, he'll need to pay it all out of pocket. My sister lost her Note 3 in the mall yesterday but because it was bought on a 28 degrees card, it will be covered.

  • Hi Guys, can you please provide some bargain links for the accessories esp Phone Case and Screen Protector etc?

    • eBay, type in what you want, hit lowest price + shipping and bam done. Note that worldwide has better prices but slower shipping where as australia only has faster shipping but higher prices. Buying in bulk (as in units of 5,10…) will make things cheaper as well.

  • Hi, I am trying to get a similar deal from Virgin, they replied only valid for existing customer. Are you upgrading your phone or subscribed as a new customer?

  • I just called up the loyalty team 1300 306 787 and they won't let me upgrade without the handset fee :( (am an existing member on BYO plan)
