Budget Direct Insurance Referal - $50 each

I just moved my home and contents to Budget Direct as it was >$100 cheaper than my previous year with Allianz and included such extras as 'new for old'… (and their PDS seemed to cover all the basics to me, and Money magazine just gave them a decent wrap for cheapest car and cheapest home/contents insurance categories)

They have a promo with a referal which nets both the new signup and the referer a $50 visa gift card each..

So, if anyone decides to join Budget Direct for car or home/contents insurance (after doing their own investigation/price comparison) then

please use the

  • Noted; will check back soon. I was with Budget Direct for years but then found Youi cheaper. Have a car insurance renewal due soon … but with my learner driver son now included invoice for $1200, when it was about $400. (Ouch!)

    • I recently moved my car insurance to progressive as they were the cheapest for me.. Budget was the cheapest on the home/contents as I mentioned so I will try Budget when car insurance next comes up again…

      • If I decide on Budget (early days for ours as yet) I shall use your referral code, and advise you also. I have noticed that a few others are trying to rain on your parade, but never thee mind, will use yours if I decide on Budget. :o)

    • Update: I rang my current insurer (Youi) and they gave me a much discounted premium of $859 now, so shall stay with them. That's a big drop from $1200, with the the 19yo learner driver on my policy. Took my mother (85) off my policy (as she doesn't actually drive my vehicle) which helped lower the premium. Same $750 excess and car at market value. I do have an excellent driving record which helps too. Don't think any other insurer will offer me better. It does to shop around for insurances. Thank you for listing.

  • Just a heads up - make sure they have your address recorded correctly.

After 2 years of paying ~$1000 for my car insurance (not through budget direct, but another insurer), I contacted them about my renewal. The call centre girl realised while I was on the phone to her that my address wasnt recognised in the system (wasnt registered with Australia post database or something like that?). She fixed it so that their system did recognise it - and voila! Dropped from $1067 to $855 like that.

Example of the error: say my (fake) address is 14/67B Fake Street. Thats how they'd entered it into their system which didnt recognise with their Australia post database. It had to be entered as Unit 10, 67 Fake Street.

  • Turns out there's a bit of missing info…
    You need to go to
    http://www.budgetdirect.com.au/existing-customers/buddyinfo.…
and enter the referral code on the right of that page, and start the quote via the link below it

  • +1

I'm quite new to OzBargain and don't know all the rules. Where can I advertise my referral code?

  • Bu-J Bu-J…. Bu-J Bu-J…..

  • Duplicate? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/100927

I think we need a new Wiki page to post the Budget Direct Referral Code.
Can someone with privilege please help?

  • Is it still open. I see on their website they have closed this program.
