VODAFONE Huawei G300+ $59 (Was $99) + $4.95 Delivery or Pickup in Store @ DSE

110

Found this randomly whilst looking for some bargains - seems to be the cheapest at the moment by a decent margin.

Not sure about the unlocking - last Vodafone locked phone I got from DSE unlocked for free. Might get lucky on this one as well!

Enjoy!

Edit: Oh, no stock around me, usual DSE warning, etc.

  • Runs gingerbread, and more importantly is showing as temporarily out of stock.

Edit: No longer showing as out of stock.

  • Good luck in actually finding one. Best to just pay the extra $4.95 for delivery.

I've got an earlier Huawei Android cheapie, the Ideos X3. It's never missed a beat in about 18 months and while the keyboard is almost at the margins of accessibility on a 3" screen, the voice to text interface words well and really supplants the keyboard. Has the usual base Android features, including A-GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, Gravity Rotation etc At the price (about the same as the G300 when it came out) highly recommended. Still available new on eBay…..Bundle with a Live Connected base plan (uses Optus 3G network) and you have a viable voice/data solution for about $400 over two years…compare that to $2000 for a two year IPhone 5/Telstra plan. Go on a holiday with the savings….LOL!!!

    • I had that phone but sold it. It is adequate but very slow.

  • If you can manage to find Y300 for under $80 it would be a better deal. Nonetheless G300 for $59 is still nice.

    • Y300 is $79 almost eveywhere.

  • Just bought it… yes its locked to Vodafone,, Vodafone requesting $75 for unlock..:)

    • No need to request the unlock code, it's probably factory unlock. Just try your luck with other sims. I bought 3 from different stores last year and all factory unlocked.

      • No.. Checked with other SIMs.. it's locked, looks like only Vodafone SIMs works… Voda technical support its locked & unlock fee is $75

        • I thought Vodafone had a free online unlocking service.

A quick Google search found this, not sure if it is the correct webpage, but it looks like it:
          https://unlock.vodafone.com.au/voila/handsetunlock/self-serv…

        • Yeh, it's a free unlock after 6 months ?? Something like that.. Last one I got was the G526 and the unlock was free via the website - so I'd assumed it was old stock.

        • I last used it a couple of years ago, and I was able to use it immediately after purchase. There was no fee for my phone, which was a Huawei Ideos.

    • Any Huawei phones can be unlocked for US4.5 here
      http://nckserver.com/imei/6/5/Huawei-Factory-codes--All-leve…

I have used it many times for my Huawei X1, X3, Y201(x3) and G526. Codes will be sent to email within 24hrs after payment

  • no stock near me but it wont let me select home delivery either, what am i doing wrong?

    • had the same issue,I could not select delivery.. "Click & collect" gave me a store, which is 50km away… When I call my nearest store,1km away, they had plenty… :)

      • which store?

  • yeah strange last night all my local stores showing no stock, tried again this morning and went though fine for click and collect, just got confirmation to come pick up today.

then tried again for a second order and showing no stock again. Fremantle store.

what is best way/cheapest option to get it unlocked? http://nckserver.com/ or bagman here on ozbargin?

    • I prefer to go with one in our forum bagman.. but yet to receive unlock code :) .. Understood that its Chinese new Yr , hence it can get delayed…

I have used the BagMan a couple of times for Huawei phones - no problem, seamless, and he is in Aus.. $5.40 into his Paypal account from memory
