Philips Fidelio P9 Bluetooth Wireless Speaker $159 + $9.19 Postage @ CatchOfTheDay

After recently buying a smaller bluetooth speaker I thought I might give something with a bit of oomph a go because of the convenience of such a device both at home and going out (park/beach etc). I don't think this was sold in Australia but some online stores sell it for over $300. Even on ebay, the price is in the mid three hundreds. The reviews are generally very positive for this and the advantage is that it can work on battery power for 8 hours.

The postage is $9.19 for one unit.

Anyway, I thought it wasn't too bad of a buy. Note however that the warranty is 12 months through COTD. That may be an issue for some but in general I have not had any issues with COTD before but others have..

  • Grabbed one thanks.

  • Thanks for sharing. Portability is a huge plus for this. . Good find.

  • Just bought one and was about to post the deal. Then I realised you had already done so :)

  • I take it from the link photo that the cover/stand can be removed completely, but does any one know if will sit stably and hence perform ok in a vertical position?

    • any particular reason why you would?

      • Desk / other work-space, and given that stereo separation is barely perceptible in speakers of this size, that wins out for me relative to horizontal placement.

  • For that price you can get the Ultimate Ear Boom speakers, which pretty much set the benchmark in portable Bluetooth speakers.

  • That is a relative comment, as sound perception is widely perceived to be subjective to each listener. Reading the

specs. and reviews for both units, I would say that the Phillips would generally put out a richer, punchier sound.

The features on both is another matter, as they both feature unique features in their own right.
