Sydney Flower Markets for Valentines Day?

I'm planning to surprise my girlfriend and rock up with flowers at her work on Friday morning. So I've got a question whether it's worth going to the Sydney Flower Markets for it? I hear it's $8 to get in.
I've got to leave the house at 5am to pretend to go to work anyway, so it being open that early is quite convenient for me.

Has anyone been there (especially for V-Day) and if so, was it worth it?

The Sydney Flower Market is great, but I've never been on a Friday morning or on Valentine's day itself, only Saturdays. I suspect it'd be pretty busy.

Parking is free on Saturdays, but that probably doesn't help you. There is actually a pedestrian underpass under Centenerary Drive, you could potentially park on the side of Centenerary Drive opposite to the Sydney Market entrance gate and use the underpass. I've seen other people doing that.

Edit: The flowers are heaps cheaper than florists, and there's a great range. I usually pick up a bunch of 10 flowers for a few dollars.

  • Fantastic, thanks very much for the info!
