Get the JVC 48 incher for $549 from DSE, best value out there at the moment in this size-range IMO.
JVC is another of the many brands that are now known as "no name" like akai, teac, etc…
thinking of money for value? JVC 48" is one of good choices.
if you can wait for a while, you may have a chance of paying $498 for it.

You can get a refurb 48" Soniq for $379 delivered. My 7-8yr old Soniq tv is still going strong and they generally get good reviews considering their price.
For a cheapie try soniq from JB. 48" for $499 (better than kogan and some other no name brands)

DSE have a Panasonic 50" lcd on special soon for around the same price but it is not comparable with the LG for picture quality and durability.
