  • so you need to use up your credit before the bonus will start being used?..

  • omg, i just recharged my phone last night with the recharge-40-get-30bonus promotion~~~

  • +2

Remember to recharge online (using a credit card) with a minimum of $40 this weekend to get an extra $30 credit and 2 times Always Win Promo. So in total-> $80. Read: https://personal.optus.com.au/web/ocaportal.portal?_nfpb=tru…

    • thanks for telling us this. good job friend.

      and
if u cant use the credit up go on the net, call a "naughty" hot line etc there is heaps to do with the credit!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • -1

beware of this promotion, knowing that your credit will expire within 30 days. I did recharge 40, ended up having $70 but it will expire within a month, and I don't think I'll use that much…

    • exactly….if you used that much you'd be better off on a plan

    • the first 40 will expire in 2 months dont worry

And Optus's Customer Service is in BANGALORE, INDIA.

I don't support any company that rapes Australian jobs, only to pay INDIANS a mere $2 PER DAY (80 Indian Rupees):

    http://www.paycheck.in/main/officialminimumwages

Especially to a company like Optus, which is owned by a Singapore government ("Singtel") that goes around killing Australian citizens (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nguyen_Tuong_Van).

    • +1

You gotta live with it dude, outsourcing is a way to make profit, and company need profit to survive.

And that vietnamese guy was guilty of drug trafficking, knowing that it's illegal and will get a death penalty, why choose such way to repay debt.

And why the hell you pull that stuff on a bargain site lol.
And why did you post a bargain related to Optus here http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/12863 xD

      • -3

I always tell people about bargains I see. And always tell people how it is bad that INDIANS are raping Australian jobs for $2 per day wages.

        • I think this can be said a lot better in less offensive terms. Interesting fact here, in India the price of living is much cheaper hence why the are cheaper to employ. Add to that the competition for work, it's not surprising.

If this upsets you so much, don't bother using a phone/internet provider since for the most part, they outsource a lot of their work overseas to save costs and generally pass these on to you, consumers.

Then again, you could be a racist bigot (which wouldn't surprise me).

@Kranbone: He is, check his post history

            @Kranbone:

don’t bother using a phone/internet provider since for the most part

            Not true.

iinet is 100% Australian, 100% located here in Australia with 100% Australian staff.

    • +1

The bit about Singapore you have there alexportnoy has NOTHING to do with the deal and is completely irrelevant.

I'm surprised you're still on here after your racist sentiment from earlier (keep in mind I'm actually not Indian).

  • ok just to clarify, If you recharge say $30 you get the $50 bonus?

And now you have a combined credit of $80 which will expire in 30 days? Is this what it means? Or will it mean that the bonus credit ($50) expire after 30 days?

  • +1

only the bonus credit will expire in 30 days.

also if you pay for 40$ they will give you another $30 in bonus credit, according to: https://personal.optus.com.au/web/ocaportal.portal?_nfpb=tru…

    • -4

Not true, all your credits will be expired in 30 days. Unless you recharge again and extend that period

  • The $50 of Rev-Up Bonus Credit will expires in 30 days, but the $30 can be roll over if u recharge again before it expires.

  • ok with all this conflicting information, can someone who is intending on recharging on Saturday or Sunday tell me whats the deal with the optus credit? thanks :)

  • Can't work out if all the credit expires after 30 days or just the $50 bonus. Their terms and conditions are not clear,
"Available to Optus & Boost Pre-Paid Mobile customers. Credit expires in 30 days. Minimum recharge $30. Offer starts 12:01am AEST 13/06/09. Ends 11.59pm AEST 14/06/09. You will receive $50 of Rev-Up Bonus which can be used for standard talk and text." etc etc

Credit expires in 30 days? Which credit! Are you saying all of it!?

If all of the credit expires in such a short time what a sly and dodgy promotion, wouldn't surprise me being optus.

Edit: Did some sleuthing…it looks like the 30 day time limit only applies to the $50 bonus. So I'm going ahead and recharging this weekend. Also looks like you need to pay for and activate the recharge this weekend.

These finer details are found in the FAQ.
    http://personal.optus.com.au/web/ocaportal.portal?_nfpb=true…

  • Correct Tray, Let me make it a bit clear,

You recharge $30 this weekend, you will get an additional $50 bonus.

The $30 original recharge voucher will expire 30 days later BUT will roll over if you recharge before the expiry date. However, the $50 will be gone no matter what after 30 days

The bonus credit will use up first. So if you have $30 + $50 = $80. And you only use $30 before the expiry date, and decides to recharge again, you will only roll over $30, the remaining $20 (from the bonus credit), will be gone.

… Now, you can save even more:
If you recharge a minimum of $40, you will get an additional $30 extra bonus (which is non-rollover after 30 days) on top of your $50 bonus credit, provided you recharge online with a credit card this weekend.

That's how I understand it. cheers.

  • I'm still confused

I thought the original credit you buy expires in 6 months while the bonus credit expires in 30 days…

    • +2

OK this depends on the plan you choose. the Turbocap credits expire 30 days, while the "Now and then" plan's credit will expire 186 days, and differs with other prepaid plans. No matter which one of the plans you use, the bonus credit will expire in 30 days and will not rollover.

  • OMG bl i just sign off optus =(

  • Ok I recharged for $30 and got the bonus $50.

Checked my balances, the $30 expires in 6 months time (as usual for my particular call offer), and the $50 expires in a month.

  • +1

ok i just recharged and here's what its like.

I am currently on the "Now and then" Plan

I recharged $40 credit (expires in 186 days)

I got $80 (presumably the $50 bonus and $30 bonus as what some people have already said)

In addition i got 2 always win codes (i got a ring tone and 100 free sms)

    Fantastic bargain for $40!

Hope that clears it all up!

Make sure to test-drive the Indian accent by calling the one-and-only Optus call centre:

    1300-303-442

I got answered by a "Sheryl", a "Kylie", and a "Jock" on three different occasions.

What names did they lie for you guys?

  • Did you do that alexportnoy? Jesus get over the indian customer service. They're made to change their names to a more "westernised" one at call centres. You should watch 'Outsourced' or 'Diverted to Delhi'. What is with some people these days! So bitter and hateful!

    • -1

Maybe something to do with "Having to train your Indian replacement before you are sacked in 2 months time"…

  • from Optus FAQ - last question!
    http://70.32.66.32/faqs.htm

    Q. The $50 Bonus Credit has been applied but I don't seem to be able to use it?

The $50 Bonus Credit can be used for standard talk, text and internet browsing. However on some rateplans you may need to use up other credit partitions before you can access the $50 Bonus Credit.

put it this way, you might have to use up ALL your $30, then you get to use the bonus $50? in other word, you have to use more than $30 of your original credit, then you can start using the $50 bonus credit(which will expire in 30 days)?

    that's dodgy!!!

    • Im not sure which rateplans they are referring to. I am on Turbocaps and the bonus credit is used up first while the normal credit is still left untouch

  • i just recharged $40 and received the $80 bonus credit. workss!! hooray!
