UFC, Infamous or Protype for $61

23

This is a first post and lets hope i dont get too much stick for it.

Firstly, you need to go to GAME to price match fifa 09 from EB games at $42.

http://www.ebgames.com.au/ps3/product.cfm?id=11747&refer=pro…

then you trade that in on the deal linked for Virtual Tennis 2009 or any other game there.

so eg. You'd pay 29.95 on top for Virtual Tennis 2009.

Therefore so far you've paid 29.95 + 42. that's $72.

Then You return it coz you 'didnt like it' according to Game's 7 day return policy. Therefore you get your $29.95 dollars back. And now you have $70 trade Store credit from the $42 spent on Fifa.

Now then get GAME to price match JB HiFi price for the above games of $89.

http://www.jbhifi.com.au/games/sony/play-station/ps3/

Now using your store credit of 70 dollars, your only paying another $19 extra.

So in the end, You've spent $61 for those NEW RELEASES.

OR you can just buy anything else for 70 dollars using store credit when you've only spent $42!

Sounds a little elaborate when you could just buy MKvsDS universe for about 30 bucks online then trade it in and get it for about 60 bucks.

Also, Fifa 09 is not eligible.

    COD4 is 49 if that's any consolation.

  • Or you could do a couple hours ot at work….probably easier than this - thumbs up for the effort put into the description though

I don't understand the step that says: "And now you have $70 trade Store credit from the $42 spent on Fifa." How do I get $70 credit?

Same here. I had to read this a few times and that line does not make any sense.

You said you get $29.95 back and $70 store credit when you return the game. It makes sense that you get the $70 store credit but the $29.95? I presume thats inlcuded in the $70 and not cash.

Also to pull it off you'd have to go to a different store or the same store when different people are working. If its the same guy you're dealing with the whole way I'm sure they'd smell something fishy long before you walk away with the game you actually wanted.

My question is have you actually pulled this off?

While doable its not recommended, taking advantage of deals may hurt others when GAME might decide to scrap these policy that they do out of good will

  • EVERYONE

FIFA 09 IS NOT ELIGIBLE. THIS WILL NOT WORK.

    • How is it not? its on the game website?

  • Too much hassle. I just traded 3 x360 games, which were not on the jb hifi exclusion for prototype. These games only cost me $35 to get in total and i traded them in when i got GAME to match the trade in deal from jb hifi.

Wow, or I could just pay up the difference and not feel like a cheapskate. Legit bargains are one thing. Using the system to make up a few dollars is another.

  • No deal

I don't consider this a bargain… it's more of a case of unfairly taking advantage of the store's policies to save a few bucks.

WAAAAAYYYY easier to just pick up three of the following pre-owned PS3 titles from EB and do the JB three for one trade deal or get EB to match it. You can get UFC, Infamous and Prototype this way.

I used the online stock finder then rang the store to hold the games for me so I didn't have to trawl the shelves searching for the games I was after.

    Splinter Cell Double Agent $17.47
    Elder Scrolls Oblivion $19.97
    Baja Edge of Control $19.97
    Assassin's Creed $22.47
    Fight Night Round 3 $22.47
SOCOM US Navy Seals: Confrontation $22.47
