Ants in the swimming pool

Hello guys,

We were away for a week or so and our pool became green. After adding concentrated chlorine and Algaecide the pool became nice blue. But after couple of days we could see that there are ants! hundreds, maybe thousands of ants! on the surface of the water :( Not sure how ants got into the water may be from the attached backyard (small) garden we have there.

I am thinking to use Leaf Shovel but there are so many ants.
How to get rid of these thousands of ants :(

Any help would be great!

    Wouldn't the filter get rid of them?

    Sounds like your water level is either too high or too low because the skimming action of the skimmer box should be taking care of them. Has your filter been running or been running for at least a few hours per day?

    Sure you can skim them off easily with a leaf rake but they should be getting skimmed off automatically.
