Thanks OP - what's the verdict on the Toshiba Laptop they have in the afternoon? http://www.dicksmith.com.au/laptops-notebooks/toshiba-satell…

    • +1

Don't know if it applies to the exact model number but here are two reviews: Techradar Review and PCAdvisor review

If it were me I'd do some more research into other laptops available. On sale shouldn't always mean instant buy. Having done some research into laptops/ultrabooks lately, there are still some solid options out there. If you're looking for portability you might want to consider an ultrabook or macbook pro/air. At the moment ultrabooks seem to be unusually hard to find and are quite expensive for what they offer. It seems like i've entered a parallel universe, but at the moment for portability and value for money Apple has some really nice offerings in their Mac range (if you're a uni student get onto their education discount before the end of tomorrow!).

If you're not after portability, or can lug a laptop in the car then there are a few more options. Harvey Norman seems to be clearing out a lot of their laptops so take a look on their website.

Before someone falls for the navman unit read the reviews here.
    http://www.productreview.com.au/p/navman-my350lmt.html

    • thanks dosada agree great reviews or not ;)

    • +1

I jumped for it before I did any research.. check the thread here: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2014297.
Methinks I may be sending it back unless Navman has made serious improvement in the last couple of months.

    • U saved my ass

  • If the Dell Encore goes for 250, I'm grabbing one.

    • I was look around for what you meant, it's the Toshiba Encore.

      • Whoops! Was thinking of Dell Venue when I typed that. :P

        But yes, Toshiba Encore.

  • Such obscurity in the accessibility of these deals.

You guys didn't get the email with all this info in?

I put it together all the deals together with the T & C here

    • SuperStar..

    • How did you do it..just curious

      • +9

Inspected the image URLs on the page, worked out the naming convention, and replaced Wk38_AU_Tue with Wk38_AU_Wed. :)

        • Nice going!

        • good stuff.. will be handy for future..

  • Is the Samsung TV a good deal? Thinkibg of pulling the plug in a new TV

  • FYI I got that Toshiba 1TB for ~$65 after price matching at OW.
EDIT: Deal was from CNET, but I believe it is now expired.

  • How do you think about the Blaupunkt soundbar?

    Is it any good quality?

    • +2

There was a deal for this about 2 weeks back. From the people who purchased the quality ranged from terrible and wanting to return to OK but average quality.

Certainly wouldn't buy based on those reviews. Definitely not worth the $299 there asking when not on special.

  • Can't seem to find any reviews for the Swann security cameras. Anyone who has one that would like to share their feedback?

    • Looks like the price is decent.. my only concern is installation. Getting all the cables through your roof cavity would be interesting.

  • The CANON MX526 looks good for $59. Its just a pity it uses a singe multicolor ink cartridge and does not do disc printing.

  • Thanks guys. Just ordered the Telly after missing out on previous deal.. Yeehaaa!!!

  • Do we have any specifics on the laptop? Sort of just says "Toshiba Computer"

  • A 70Inch LED TV for $1600 … sounds like a decent price for 70 inch … anyone knows what model that is (Hitachi XYZ?)

  • Edited .. I think there must be a Hero 3 + edition rather than the Hero 3 that I linked to

  • +1

Is this the opposite of Earth Hour?

  • Just grabbed the 6 Camera Home monitoring kit. Thanks TA!

  • Anyone thing the Hero 3+ Black edition is a good deal?

    • +1

$100 off, less than RRP of 3 when it was in production, around the same as 3 on special when in production (and even when 3+ came out). Yes, good deal.

    • Can't find any review but $398 is a very good price.

      • Good price indeed even though I would have preferred POE security cams less fuss with cables.

        • yeah i had my finger on the trigger but the work involved with laying cables put me off.

        • -1

Thought for Poe you still need power cable anyway right?

        • :/ PoE = Power over Ethernet…

  • The Samsung TV deal is back on for the same listed price Inc free delivery if anyone still looking for it. Just ordered one for myself after the deal finished

  • are the swann good bet to buy now?

    • I just purchased the 6 camera set. I've already got a couple of the better quality swann sets and am very happy with those.

I wanted a slightly cheaper set for something and this is perfect at this price.

      • +1

Thanks.. i have done "buy now think later" thing..

        • +1

          In true OB style!

        • Careful as dse won't accept return due to change of mind

      • Strangely enough, camera price went up to $999 when it was 12.50pm aest. (Deal didn't supposed to finish by that time)

        • Same happened to me too :(

  • IS the Emtec 5x 8gb Flash drives worth it? Doesnt seem like that good a price? seems standard…

    • +1

That makes it $6 per piece
As reference officeworks have sandisk 8gb @$6.97
For extra 0.97 I go for sandisk

  • I bought the canon 1100d for 354 earlier this week (with the 11% off code). It looks like it is going to be reduced to 328 during the "hour of power". Can i get them to refund the price different, or am i being too tight?

    • +1

Never too tight ! Give them a call, they are usually very understand and will refund the difference for you.

  • I like the Canon Printer MX526, is it a good price?

    • +1

The tri colour tank put me off .. would much rather individual ones.

      review: http://www.bit.com.au/Review/346452,canons-pixma-mx526-inkje…

make up your own mind but Im passing

    • i am thinking the same.. $59 seems like a good price for that printer.. tri colour tank will lower the photo printing quality according to the review above.. i don't do much photo printing..

      anyone else go this printer?

  • Toshiba Encore for $319, seems pretty good, but not sure if it would get cheaper anytime soon.
Nevermind, decided it's probably not really the right tablet for me (I have been researching for a while).

  • Dont tell me these deals were only on eastern time :/

  • If you can find one thing at DSE that you can't get cheaper somewhere else you're a better man than me, gunga din.

    • Eneloop Batteries and Chargers of Course is cheaper than DSE by a whole lot than anywhere else :P

  • The Encore was selling at DSE for same price a few weeks back.

The bulk buy Dell Venue 8 for $299 would be a better deal IMO.

  • Which courier do they use now?

    Received tracking starting with GO

    Star track/TNT or something else?
