polos originally priced at $110 and $120.

Polos originally overpriced at $110 and $120.

  • I suppose this is a bargain on overpriced shirts?

Or, is it another April 1st prank.

I think these are decent value at this price. I have both these and some Van Huesen shirts. The Charles Tyrwhitt are better quality.

That is not really saying much for the 'quality'.

Also "decent value" is not a bargain.

    • Just offering an opinion buddy which is better than the rubbish comments you have offered. Take it or leave it

I replied to your stated opinion - politely.

As for my "rubbish comments". I have some knowledge of these shirts. They are made by Smart Shirts Ltd based in Hong Kong. In the past I have purchased them (and other brands such as Ralph Lauren, Timberland, Hugo Boss, etc.) for A$9 each (EDIT: It may have been two for A$9 - I purchased so many that I can't remember now) directly from Smart Shirts Ltd (I had access to their 'samples' room).

  • The shirts are good but I'd recommend the cotton iron free ones as the others are almost impossible to iron because the quality isn't there. But reasonable price for workwear

  • CT shirts are decent quality, I put them similar to TM Lewin.

Both brands are supplied by Smart Shirts Ltd.

      • wow, this I did not know!

I've found them both slightly different

        • TM Lewin shirts crease like a mofo
        • CT shirts are missing the button on the forarm

Smart Shirts Ltd. produce what the customer orders. Fabrics, designs, number of buttons, finish, packaging, etc.

I spent I lot of time unpacking the 'better' branded shirts. They had tissue paper, cardboard, plastic, metal clips, and metal pins. Others had just plastic (to hold the collar in shape), and clips.

I saved maybe a kilo in weight for the trip back to Sydney.

        • interesting

They only show some clients - there are many, many, more.

Yup, and a "reasonable price" does not equal a bargain.

    • and how did you get such an opportunity to purchase directly through them?

Visitors (and staff I believe) are permitted to purchase from their Samples Room.

Secure building, they make shirts for a lot more brands than they disclose on their web site.

        • unfortunately for those who do not have access to Smart Shirts in Hong Kong sample room, we have to make do with the other options.

My experience with TM Lewin has been fine, their iron free shirts are worthwhile (as long as you time your purchase right) as creasing is an issue with their other shirts (even the "luxury" option.

My annoyance with TM Lewin is they charge more at their retail store than online (won't price match their own website!) and postage can be excessive if ordering online.

Yeah, it is depressing. After paying $5 for shirts that cost up to $200 here (Pinks, Ralph Lauren, etc.) I can not bring myself to pay over $25 for a shirt. I end up buying when on sale, and/or with discount codes, from TopMan, ASOS, etc.

If you like the shirts, and can buy when $40 (or less) with free delivery - it is a good deal. Also, their return policy seems very fair.

It may be that when buying on-line (from AU or UK domain etc.) you are buying direct - the physical Australian store(s) may be the local distributor or even franchise(s).

  • does not seem that there is actually a 5 shirt limit

  • Great deal. Just bought 4 shirts for less than $40 each with free delivery. For those people that don't like a deal because they have access to a showroom selling these items overseas, unless you can post a link where you can buy these shirts for cheaper than the above deal and delivered to Australian addresses, most of us would prefer if you keep those comments to yourself as you are not providing any value to these forums.
