  • Rep, can you clarify the recording resolution for each camera please? (and not the total combined resolution)
    Is it:

    • 1024 lines (VGA Output Resolution is 1280 x 1024)
    • 420 lines (420 TV Lines Resolution)
    • 288 lines (Up to 4 Channels CIF Real-Time Recording and Playback at the Same Time)
    • 144 lines (as per above / 2 (for 4 boxed images))
    • something else?

    Thanks!

Im not the rep, but the way I read it as:

1024 is the output res of the box… not any of the cameras.
420 lines is the resolution of each of the 4 cameras in the pack.
      420 isnt great… see comparison here: http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/sfu8NnWdnSU/maxresdefault.jpg

and the other numbers? who knows.
but the camera res is most important… and at 420 lines thats not that great.
but for $180 delivered, you cant expect a 4 camera HD setup (bearing in mind there is no hard drive in the box).

The quoted "old price" of $599 is of course overinflated and out of date, but technically this set may well have sold at that price in the past. Certainly not recently.

I guess it depends on what you want it for.
If you just want to monitor, this is fine.
If you want to record to provide to police, this is not fine.

A quick Ebay check found a superior spec system for $20 more (four 600 line res cameras and 500Gb hard drive central unit).

  • Hi Muncan UFO is right 1024 is the output res of the box not any of the cameras.
420 lines is the resolution of each of the 4 cameras in the pack.
the link with the http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/sfu8NnWdnSU/maxresdefault.jpg and the comparison i dont think is that fair though we have 2 set up in the office and warehouse and they looked a bit clearer that that.

for some people it will be perfect for some it will not be we have sold 4 in the last 2 hours though.

    • well you sold doesnt mean those customer will be happy in few weeks time, we need proof and reviews from people who own this for years
