  • $35 P&P is a bit steep.

    • In the help it says pickup is available in melbourne - but when you checkout its not available as an option. sigh.

      • Yes I read that too.

  • so u guys think this is very cheap (and good quality of netbook)? im thingking to get 1 for my overseas holiday… most hotels now offer free wifi, so…

    • +2

I tihnk so. Cheap Linux-powered netbooks are hard to fine. Good deal at this price without paying the Microsoft tax.

    Errr…

    eXpansys Australia

    • Unit D
      10/F.
CDW Building, 388 Castle Peak Road, Tsuen Wan
      N.T. Hong Kong

That's not an Australian address, which is probably why the postage is so steep and why you can't pickup from Melb.

  • Question, can i reformat and put windows Xp onto this? or is the hardware incompatible?

    • +1

yes you can i found lots ppl put diff o/s .. some even say u can install leopart mac o/s !

you gave me a negitive for a question? you fool.

      • I think he either-
        1) Accidently clicked the neg
or 2) Has another reason for negging it (see the responses of MiCCAS and qtvinsta)

went to order and it was $79 for P&H to nsw metro
looked like being shipped from HK… have cancelled order now.

  • what.. $79.. too much. expansy should get few of them first

  • -1

$79 is for the rest of the world num nuts. It's $35 dollars is for registered post within australia. You sure you got the .au site?
I've bought a $800 phone from them b4 and everything went smoothly.

  • just found my receipt for the $800 phone purchased in 2005. It says on the "Australian Air Express" receipt (printed not written) that the package came from
89 Rokeby St, Collingwood, VIC 3066. Phone- 03 8150848. I don't know if it's still active, it may just be a warehouse!

easy guys.. maybe this time they dont stock this netbook here. - they should i think.

At $335 it's a good deal. At $370 (after postage), consider:

    10.1" $400 (after $79 cashback) Acer D250</A> n270-1.6 1GB 160GB 3-cell XP
    www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=acer+D250+-adaptor

    • Nice deal :-)
But most Acer Aspire cashback expired June 30th.

      • Good point. Acer cashback program here: www.shopacer.com.au/ecprod/ACA/Projects/CashBack/LoadingAll?… . Yes, most of them have expired. We can see there is one in bold below that is still active

  • Expansys have warehouses in pretty much every major country. I've never had any problems ordering from them before.

  • Indeed, this item looks like it will ship from Hong Kong and postage will cost $79 (despite them stating $35 for local postage in Australia). I've just cancelled my order.

When you add the item to your basket, it will show a price of $339.54 (including postage within Australia). This is reflected in their first confirmation e-mail. Then, they will send a second e-mail which states that the total price is now $383.54. No GST is included since the purchase is less than $1000.

I'm not putting a neg vote as it's still a relatively competitive price, but I wish the OP wouldn't be so harsh with his/her words. Also, I'm still confused as to why expansys would charge $79 when I've clearly chosen the $35 option and added an address in Vic.
