How do I get the Amazon Appstore on my Android device? To download these apps free now, download the Amazon Appstore for Android: https://www.amazon.com.au/getappstorenow Make sure you select Amazon.com.au during login.

Why isn’t the app free for me? If you have an existing Amazon.com account but cannot download the app for free, you may still be shopping the Amazon.com store.

How can I get the app for free if I have an Amazon.com account? To shop Amazon.com.au change your ‘1-Click address’ to your Australian address. Go into 'Manage my Kindle' and check that the ‘Country Settings’ show your ‘Current country’ as Australia. Just below that, it will state: ‘You are currently linked to shop on Amazon.com.au.’ If it says ‘You are currently linked to shop on Amazon.com’, then click the related link to select Amazon.com.au. You do not need to create a new account and you can continue to shop for physical goods at Amazon.com. You can always change back to Amazon.com for digital products at any time.

  • Only valid for AU Amazon accounts. Some of us have US accounts before it was available in AU.

    "We are sorry
You are not eligible to purchase this app due to geographical restrictions. (Why)?)"

    Still, good deal :-)

    Hi tim_geo,

You may not be able to download this app from Amazon.com.au if your account is registered to Amazon.com and your 'Country Settings' and '1-Click address' are set to a non Australian address.

If you would like to change your digital account over to Amazon.com.au follow the instructions in the original post under 'How can I get this app for free if I have an Amazon.com account?'

If you wish to change back afterwards, you can do so at any time.

    Thanks,

    Lee

Thanks, didn't know you could do that.
Turns out, I had already purchased this using the $5 Christmas promotion, so all good from my side.

Star Wars prequels? I don't seem to recall these. Wasn't there just episodes iv through to vi? ;)

    • "Star Wars prequels? I don't seem to recall these. Wasn't there just episodes iv through to vi? ;)"

implying they exist, actually there is just Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi

  • Actually the idea to start counting from 4 was a crude rebel encryption scheme to make sure that anyone intercepting their communications wouldn't be able to know what numbers they were using. So episode iv actually means episode I.

Hmm, I clicked reply to rjack58. Someone's obviously screwing with my comms link!

Forgive me if this has been covered before but hasn't this app always been free? Don't the devs make money off in-app purchases? Negging.

Well if I had paid for this I would be pretty unhappy. Every second screen is an ad for an in app purchase.

      Hi thepigs,

There is a free version available that is ad-supported. The version we are giving away is ad-free and normally paid across all platforms.

Both versions offer the option for in-app purchases but it is entirely possible to finish the game without making a purchase.

      Thanks

      Lee

      • entirely possible… just not likely!
        you cheeky buggers :)

@squashedrex … the devs have to make money somehow. People can pay for the opportunity to have the game ad free.

        • This is supposed to be the paid version, and Rovio make plenty of money.

  • it appears this is also free for those with a US account as well, however, I have been trying all day on both Aus and US accounts, following the instructions, and I cannot get it to work.

  • Hi darpy01,

I'm sorry that you've not been able to download the app.

If you enter your details here: www.amazon.com.au/contactus we will look into the issue for you.

    Thanks

    Lee
