So they want 100 people to line up for a store opening so it looks like an Apple product release?

    • +9

So like instead of hipsters lining up, it will be fat hipsters?

      • +4

        You mean fatsters?

    • +32

The difference is Id line up for a good burger…

      • +3

+1 Had these at Star City syd and they are pretty damn good

    • +21

Except Apple never give anything away for free

      • +7

They give out shirts at new store openings which tell the world that it didn't even take a new Apple product to get you to line up outside their store.

    • +3

The difference is that you actually get a good product for free for a year. What do you get at apple?

  • -4

Does it come with Monthly Cholesterol Check?

  • -4

Sounds more like a competition.. You have to be lucky enough to be in the first 100

    • In this case, its not about luck, its about how early you are willing to show up.
If you go line up now, you are pretty much guarenteed to be within the 100 people.

If a competition had odds which can be controlled by the competitor then I would sign up.

      • -4

True but you need luck also.
Say if you were to go down at 6am. You need a certain amount of luck that there is not already 100 people at this time.

        • +4

If you're relying on a bus to swerve and plow through the line right before opening, and you walk right off it straight into ribs&burgers, then yes

  • +1

Burgers for a year and only 1 burger a week seems a bit misleading. I'd think at least one a day if you wanna claim "a years supply of xxx" status.

    • +11

52 free burgers is pretty decent tbh

    • +7

I'd laugh if they put in more conditions such as - you have to buy a drink first before you get the free burger, and the drink price is like $5.70 lol

      • +7

$5.70 for a drink and a burger? Sign me up!

    • +9

Maybe that's what it said in the fine print of those golden tickets. Free lifetime supply of chocolate*

      *Two Wonka bars per week.

      • Dogs ehh, they aren't even that expensive to produce. Just annoying in organising cause its for a "lifetime"

  • +8

If I lived closer to the place, I'd line up. I have no shame.

But the location isn't convenient enough to want to go there every single week for a year to get the burgers.

  • +3

any cheap syd - mel flights to accompany this deal? :p

    • +3

You'd travel to Melbourne every week for a free meal?

      • +2

Maybe its like winning the lotto where you can take a smaller 1 time payment (let's say 35 burgers)

  • I'm just curious who of you are going down. If someone from OzB goes (especially if you plan to line up overnight) make it known.

    • OzB represent. Photos required please.

    • +29

Bring your eneloops so we know who you are lol

      • +6

Finally a good use for all the eneloops and torches from OzBargain!

        • It's ID for the 'club'.

    • My Gf works down the road, I've sent here to line up on my behalf. We also live down the road.

I've known about this deals for weeks, as it was advertised in the local paper.

  • Had their burgers and ribs at Rhodes, NSW. Amazing… The ribs are sooo tasty

    • What about the burgers? I assume not so good haha.

      • Ribs in burger. I want.

  • Close to my ex uni… I would have gone there.. and lined up..maybe managed to convince some people to leave the queue to make some room for me.
    :)

  • uhm i just saw this lol, i study at hawthorn, so i might line up after class.

    • So class finishes tonight 6pm? - you could be the first person in the queue unless they've already started!

  • -3

Nothing special, I've been getting free furburgers everyday for the past 8 years

    • +8

lining up in the homeless soup kitchen queue doesnt count.

  • pretty good deal

I think the difference is people should really only line up if they legitimately going to collect it once a week.

    otherwise its wasted !

  • I'm guessing its only at the hawthorn store that voucher? or any ribs and burgers store?

  • i'll be camping there

  • Thanks god I don't leave close by otherwise losing weights is going to be a lot harder :)

  • +4

I was one of the first 100 people who lined up at the Central Park restaurant and can confirm these taste absolutely delicious! Definitely worth lining up early in the morning to get a year's of free burgers, especially so close to the uni and TAFE. By the way if you're under 16 you can't get a card.

    • was it only valid afterwards for the central park restaurant?

      • +1

Yeah it's only valid at the restaurant that you get it from.

    • What time did you get there?

      • +3

I arrived there at around 8am at 21st place in line. The opening was at 11am, but it depends on how many people come. I went to the Rhodes one at 9am and we missed out by two place (102 haha). BUt at the Central Park there weren't even 100 in total past 9am.

        • Wow how pissed were u being 102nd! On the bright side you had it better than the 101st guy

  • Any one got the T&C's - want to see if it is transferable (i.e. I go on holiday for a couple of weeks) - wouldn't want to waste time that I'm out of the country!

Also, their website says that all the beef is 'free range' - anyone ever seen a cow NOT be free range?!?!

    • Here: http://ribsandburgers.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Term… (OP should probably edit this in)

I wouldn't think that the cards are transferable, but you could always give the card to someone else to use.

      • +1

Yeah that's what I meant - so if I'm away for a month, can I give it to my brother to use…

    • Some cows are held in feed lots before they are slaughtered.
      Source: http://kb.rspca.org.au/What-is-the-difference-between-free-r…

    • Yeah, actually some cows are in feed lots and crowded stand in their own poo all day.

    • all the beef is 'free range' - anyone ever seen a cow NOT be free range?!?!

Absolutely cows can be reared in stalls - you're probably thinking of sheep.

  • -1

If they were smarter, it should be maximum of 1 burger a day. That way by the time you eat 52 burgers, you'll be sick of it and less likely to go back.

  • +1

I have been enjoying their Lemon and Herb Chicken burger each week at their Rhodes, Sydney store since February 2014 using one of these cards.

The cards allow you to enjoy a free $10 beef burger each Week.

I pay an extra $3 to enjoy the Excellent $13 Lemon and Herb Chicken burger.

Nice, fresh grilled Chicken - Excellent friendly service and all fresh ingredients.

    Thanks Ribs and Burgers!

  • +1

They are also running a competition FREE RIBS FOR A YEAR. 8 Finalist (from their 25 words answer.) will have a rib eating competition. And winners gets ribs for a year. lol…

  • +2

Hmmm. I need to calculate how much my leave is worth vs 52 burgers.

    • I'd say 52 burgers is worth 1 days sick leave.

      • 52 burgers, $10 per burger, $520 value
how much do you get paid per day?

  • The true ozbargainer will camp for this :)

  • 1km from my office, less than 15 minute walk. What excuse can I give to be out of the office for a couple of hours……….mmmmmmmm……….

    • Pay somebody a couple burgers to beat you up?

      • Not exactly what I had in mind, but thanks for your suggestion nailsforlunch ^_^

    • +1

Food poisoning, constipation, car accident, found a lost puppy and had to take it back to its owner?

      idk

  • Did someone say free burgers for a year! If only I wasn't a vegan :'(

    • Maybe they do Tofu or Lentil Burgers

      • Would you eat a tofu or lentil burger?! No Sir, you wouldn't. Neither would I ;)

    • I feel the need to tell you about a person I know who also told me they were vegan. Then I caught them eating bacon.

  • Guess I could always move 3.5 hours away from where I am now for 52 free burgers…

  • I could see a lot of swinburne uni kids lining up for this

  • +4

I'm heading down there at 9… Anyone else?

  • +6

Hopefully homeless people get on to this.

    • +1

I don't think the homeless have access to ozBargain.

  • Totally a good deal. But 77 of you upvoted it already, so good luck.

  • +7

I live around the corner. There is already 50 lined up at 7.45am.

  • +7

I'm in line and the owner/manager just came past. She counted 60. Viva la burger

    • +1

You said you were going to be there at 9…

  • +1

    The lines up to 80.

  • Waiting in the line with another mum for our kids. Does anyone know if the card is transferable?

    • Someone post earlier that you have to be over 16 to use the card

  • +1

I think there is 100 now

  • Meh, had their ribs once whilst some friends had their burgers. Both were very bland. Wouldn't try again.

    • Best ribs i've ever had would prob be from Squires Loft. Try them if you have some time or is close to one.

  • +3

So gutted the lady in front of me was 100 I was 101

    • Pawned.

    • We're there many others behind you?

    • What time did you start lining up?

    • +1

      That was me. Sorry :(

  • I think the count reached 130 at some stage

  • ribs are fantastic! best ribs in melbourne, for the price you are paying!

In squiresloft you are paying double for a little better taste? Ozbargainers can't be justified!

  • I'll be there!

    • hahaha

  • +3
