.nvm, cpu spec is in title, not repeated under 'specs'

seems reasonable price, but…kogan..heard too many bad stories

      but…kogan..heard too many bad stories

Kogan….? What does Kobo have to do with Kogan?

    • +3

      is kobo kogan's cousin?

    • Sorry - epic reading fail….I knew it said kobo, but somehow managed to read kogan into it as well.
I should have guessed something was wrong (with my brain) when I failed to see the cpu specs on the first read

    edge-to-edge display

Glass != display, CoTD. An actual edge to edge display would be an ergonomic nightmare.
Tablet doesn't look too bad at all, though.

  • Great screen resolution!

Hmm was about to purchase it but it has no micro sd card slot, that resolution is wasted with only 12.9gb of available storage.

    • guess you could OTG out at least

      • Can one OTG in (or WiFi to a local cloud server, maybe), to access/play HD videos [eg, via VLC]?

        • There are wireless hard drive cases that you can connect your devices to, personally I prefer expandable storage on my devices, but for tablets in particular I think those wireless hard drives do a pretty good job (as you can take a couple of TB worth of videos/music).

      • Convenient, but a bit costly (& maybe even risky: it's too easy to break a jack or that OTG memory stick, ie, by dropping the 10.1" tab on it).

We all bought $1 OTG cables to reduce the risk, on the cheap (since we can plug-in any USB stick).

Do any -portable- hard drives work in OTG cables/jacks?

      • Something like this would also work
        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/390807766964

      • A cheap alternative is a 3G-wifi modem with micro-SD slot. (They are often locked, subsidised and left unused when the credit runs out.) No unlock or credit needed to use it as wireless storage.

Even better: run a hotspot and DLNA server on your phone, if it has spare storage.

  • Maybe slightly OT but why is reprogrammable memory being more and more referred to as ROM

    • Cause it isn't RAM.
For the most part, it is Read Only Memory.. Sure, you can write to it, but it's not a day to day activity.

  • I think you might be able to order 2x & pay just 1x S&H fee for the two tabs.
