Malicious Android ‘ransomware’

Just received this by a email from Stay Smart on Line.

Many of us sometimes share the use of our phones and tablets. Or maybe left the phone on the desk when off to the water cooler, we never use the phone in the restroom. [too much of a tunnel sound]

FYI and if any Oz Bargainers have had experience in this field?

As mentioned in the post, it can be removed easily by using Safe Mode and then uninstalling the app in the usual way.

The ones you have to be careful of are apps which actually got approved and are on the Play store, and masquerading as official or free versions of popular paid apps.
