Zombie U for Wii U $10 in Store @ Target

80

Just picked up Zombie U for $10 at Target. The Southland VIC store had about 15 copies when I was there. Most likely this price applies at other Target stores too.

  • Has been this price for a month?

  • And has been mentioned in two or three previous deals.

  • Sorry, my mistake. I did a search for Zombie U deals and the first few that came up had the price as $15-$20. Thought this might be new.

so begins the death of this console.

Pfft, if the Wii U doesn't have at least 15 million consoles sold by this time next year I will eat my own hat. Mario Kart alone sold over 40 million copies last gen, when you combine Mario Kart 8 releasing this month with a free game, bundles to come now and later at Christmas, plus already announced exclusives and further announcements around E3, there is no chance sales won't pick up dramatically.

      • Hopefully. One thing to keep in mind however is by the time Mario Kart Wii was released, there had already been around 25 million Wii's sold globally (http://vgsales.wikia.com/wiki/Wii). 40 million sales is impressive for Mario Kart Wii, but the console had a far larger user base early on. I suspect Mario Kart 8 will ship some units but at the same time I don't know if it'll be enough to turn Nintendo's fortunes around as far as this console goes. I think they need something out of the left field that fills the Wii Sports/Wii Fit void as well as a price drop. Somehow they need to get third party developers back on board also.

We'll see but I'm losing faith after several other big name titles have failed to really spark sales such as the two or three Mario titles, Donkey Kong etc. Personally I'll get one once it drops in price for those games, I'm just not sure there are 10's of millions of customers in the same boat right now.

      It's already dead in Australia.

Buy all 15 left over, sell on gumtree for profit.

  • I bought one and it doesn't work.
    Constant disc errors. Bugger

    • Go back and swap for another.

  • Anyone know any other retailers or online shops that sell Wii u games at a reasonable price. I don't see many sales for first party Wii games or substantial sales on them. Even Wii titles are still really expensive.

Nintendo first party titles very rarely get discounted much at all until they become part of a 'classics' collection or something, and even then they're around $50. Your best bet is to find them at sites like Blockbuster.com.au which often has 20% off all games, or JB Hi Fi even has 20% off this weekend. Nintendo games are actually more likely to go up in price rather than down; check out how much Metroid Prime Trilogy or Kirby Adventure on Wii are going for on eBay for some examples of this.
