GTA Vs Yakuza Which is better?

Having a dispute with a mate last night over drinks about which game is the best. For me Yakuza series less number 5 is the best in my view. Love the Story and feels more like a japanese drama mixed with Streets of Rage beat em up.

I tell him that GTA is just hit and run, murder and maybe some other bad ass stuff. in regards to story lines i never felt engaged with GTA.

he thinks GTA V has the best graphics around, i laughed as i said even yakuza 3 modeling and facial expression is far superior work by sega then rockstar.

but in the western world GTA rules, but on the asia yakuza is always a hit.

would like to hear others opinions about the two

      A trailer park, no mention of the mother, loaded gun and a kid playing a game meant for people 17 + and the headline like always is the video game, writers posting articles like this need to be challenged!

      On topic though, nothing wrong with liking yakuza, I have a mate that prefers it over gta too, gta v is great, but I don't like games that chop and change so much

    I find open world games boring and have only ever bothered to complete a few. Some of these few games are Yakuza games, I genuinely believe only they have achieved an immersive world worth exploring and doing the side missions.

    Honestly I think they belong in completely different ballparks, if not genres all together. Yakuza is a street brawling game and GTA is a driving and shooting game.

    Yakuza's story is a lot more tense and dramatic, where as GTA usually gets deliciously over the top (unless you count GTA4 which never gets much more intense than "the was a chopper and I shot it down")

    I have Yakuza 4, and whilst I only played it a bit, the characters are badass and their facial recognition is perfect, but I think the graphics are better in GTA5 because, duh, that game was 250,000,000 dollars so obviously it would be…

    Of course, in my opinion, The Last Of Us has the best graphics of anything, including the cheater next gen titles, but now THAT'S next gen as well so THIS POINT IS MOOT I GUESS.
