Not amazing, but decent for the price point. For a similar price, you might also wanna look at UE 6000s, Shure 4400s, Klipsch Image 1s or Senn 280s.
Better than spending your money on Beats by Dre or Bose.

Definitely special. You would still need a good DAC/Amp to drive those cans but for a budget and portability, m50 is great.
I think these closed-over-ear-noise-maker-speaker-transducer-apparatus are great, definitely one of the better if not the best deals you can get at this price point. There are many other far more expensive headphones which do not sound as good as these.
They might be but the problem is that until you take them to a mirror and make sure they look good on your ears, you can't really take the risk and buy them. That's why every JB Hifi now have multiple mirrors so you can check if your new cans really suit you.
As far as I hear, if you've got on oval face, you might want to try something with a larger profile, such at the AD700s. People who are worried about looking chubby are better off buying large, cans, too - as it will decrease the face / can ratio.
I have word that there is a new line of beats coming out next year that will save money by not actually having speakers or ugly leads - but still retain the wicked cool visuals and urban rep that we all know and love.

ue6000 88bux from dse…still cannot decide whether to get these or the UE's :(
I was wondering the same and after checking some reviews I am leaning towards the ue6000. I was about to pull the trigger on that one from DSE then realized that I have a $100 voucher from the GG and I will buy it from them for $6 more. $94 at the GG.
I got a pair just to drown out people at work, and they are pretty solid. Good bass, excellent midtones, not too shrill - and great isolation. Comfortable enough that you can wear them all day, too.
Black ones are far less dorky than my white ones, though.
I have both.
For the current price difference $88 vs #13X, I'd go with UE6000 and save the money for better headphones :)
FYI: I ordered something from Massdrop on 15th April. Still not received.
They said they had delays getting supply! I must say their communication is poor - they keep you in the dark about what's happening.
