The set also features newly transferred Log Lady introductions for each episode; picture upgrades to many shots in the TV series; a new featurette with Lynch and the actors who portrayed the Palmer family which includes a mesmerizing return to the lives of their characters today; and hours of never-before-released material that dives into the fascinating story behind the celebrated pop culture classic.

Capping off more than 30 deleted/alternate scenes is an epilogue providing a fascinating glimpse beyond the cliffhanger finale of the TV series.

  • Is this region free? Would I be able to watch it on my Aus PS4?

    • yes you would - same region B …

    • Bluray from the UK are the same region as us. Different for DVD though.
I have bought plenty from the UK before. And only have a playstation to play them on.

Never watched this the first time around, does it still hold its own today?

you have missed out by never watching it.

I watched it a couple of years ago and enjoyed it.
Be warned though, the series was cancelled and the second season ends with a cliffhanger.

      • So there's no definitive ending?

        • Correct. And the ending that is is disappointing. They made a movie (Fire Walk With Me) but it dealt with the lead-up, not afterwards. Still an excellent series and one of my favourite.

We just finished watching, and on the advice of a friend we stopped after Laura's murderer was revealed about halfway through season 2 (episode 9 or 10 iirc). My understanding is that a new storyline starts after that but never gets finished due to the show's cancellation. It felt like a natural and logical end-point, so it worked for us.

        • Good call, it gets a lot sillier after that.

      • So it's only 2 seasons and a crap ending due to show cancellation. Think i'll pass

    • Yes, it does…could almost qualify as the first ever 'binge viewing' worthy show.

    • Did you ever play Alan Wake? It's heavily influenced by David Lynch's works (Blue Velvet and Twin Peaks specifically).

If you liked the atmosphere, setting and character types found in Alan Wake, you might just be partial to Twin Peaks.

      • Yeah, I quite liked Alan Wake actually and had the feeling it was influenced by Twin Peaks. I'd seen snippets of the series and it seemed similar.

So am I right in thinking that this Bluray edition has been remastered in 1080p 16:9 from the original film print or something?

    • Watch the show but don't watch the movie if you end up liking the show.

    • This is the greatest TV series ever produced even despite meddling from the network and one of the actors boyfriends.

  • There is a man in a smiling bag.

Such great music from Angelo Badalamenti https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBzOS2_mGAM

  • Save your money and watch the whole thing on Hulu: http://www.hulu.com/twin-peaks
Use https://hola.org/ to get access from Australia.
There's even the movie Fire Walk With Me there too.

    • mate this is HD!

      • Indeed. 4:3 ratio, 480i resolution detail of the 1990's in all it's HD glory. ;)

    • Then spend the extra money on cherry pie and black coffee.

      • She's my cherry pie

    She's dead….wrapped in plastic =)

    • oh that's so pointless, I better whine and get your comment removed. :)

There's a show called Psych and they did a parody episode of Twin Peaks called Dual Spires. Watch it if you like Twin Peaks.

    • Ohhhh, I loved that episode so much. Psych's parody/guest-star episodes are their best.

"Diane, I'm holding in my hand a small box of chocolate bunnies."

I visited Snoqualmie, near where parts of Twin Peaks were filmed, in 1992. Also ate cherry pie in Twede's Diner near Seattle (sadly, a fire burnt it down in 2000, and it was rebuilt but it's now nothing like the Double R Diner - this is covered on the disks, I believe).

Washington State has some truly breathtaking scenery.

  • I started watching this show a few years ago, but couldn't get into it. It's really slow, and frankly overrated, IMO.

    • Slow compared to the quick fire editing and crap that's spun out today…? True. No boobs and dragons in it, that's for sure. Twin Peaks is an acquired taste, most either identify with it or they don't.

  • Does this box set come wrapped in plastic?
