I have this and I must say, i am fairly disappointed. Not sure what it would be really good at, but i am yet to find a meal where this actually saves any time.

    • Would say that would representative of the price then? Jamie Oliver is a smart business man. Putting his name on anything and everything.

      • Possibly representative of the price. I only paid $150, not really sure what i would value it at.
May be $150 is the right price. Definitely not worth the the $300+ it was selling for.

    • A completely useless gadget that does a worse job than things you already own? So, it's a good knockoff Thermomix then? :)

      • Completely useless? I can't speak from experience about that yet but reviews from actual users are pretty good.
And I don't know, having 1 thing on the bench instead of many, appeals to me. Other than a giant slow cooker which I thrash, I Don't own those other things anyway.

knockoff maybe but for my use, having a larger capacity and higher temperature setting, it's possibly even better than thermomix and at a much, much, much lower price.

Thanks for the recipe link deal88 - drooling now, can't wait!

        • It doesn't do the job of 'many' things. It's an underpowered food processor with a hotplate in the bottom.

Reviews from people wowwed by a gadget that can AUTOMATICALLY make… uh, soup… should probably be taken with a grain of salt.

        • ahhh I get it - Thermomix rep right?

I've heard you guys get pretty feisty and defensive.

Hell kudos to you! If you can talk someone into buying just one of those $2000 machines, you have my respect.

  • We bought this from Target many months ago for $199 and my wife loves it. She doesn't use the slicer that much, but being able to brown the meat/vegies and cook the meal in the same pan is great - saves dishes and cleaning up. The swinging arm is also an excellent feature that saves food sticking to the bottom and helps mix the meal.
The biggest issue is the limit of 99 minutes on the timer. This was poorly thought out considering it works so well as a slow cooker. Whilst it doesn't turn the cooker off, it beeps incessantly until you turn it off or set it for another 99 minutes. It smacks of a cheap finish to an otherwise good product.
