FiiO X3 8GB Hifi Digital Music Player $199.75 Delivered @ A1 Future Shop

70

Thanks to extract's comment over on the AKG Q701 deal, I had a look at A1FutureShop. They are refunding 15% of the purchase total (regardless of whether the item itself is on sale) as their EOFY deal. If you pay by bank transfer then simply pay 15% less on the total amount. If you pay by paypal/credit card they will immediately refund through your paypal /creditcard accounts.

So the FiiO X3 is $199.75 shipped after refund.
For those unfamiliar with the X3:

Some other deals for DAC/amps that were mentioned in the AKG deal discussion:
Aune T1 $194.65
FiiO E12 $109.65
FiiO E17 $118.15
Matrix M-Stage HPA-2 USB $322.15

They ship from Sydney and according to their website provide full Australian warranty, so for prices that are similar or even cheaper than grey imports, these look like good deals.

Edit: 15% off is site wide, not just stuff with the red sale tab. They seem to be processing the refunds manually, i.e. I paid $235 for an X3 by paypal and got 15% refund the next day.

  • Might want to double check if the fiios are exempt from that sale before buying. It has a little "Sale" tab on it when browsing the brand. Otherwise good price at $118 for the E17

  • Looks like the FiiO X5 is on sale but not the X3 which should mean the 15% applies to it?

    • the 15% off is site wide. i bought the x3 and got the 15% refund. it may take a day or 2 to process the refund, they seem to be doing it manually.

      • Thanks for the confirmation.

      • The 15% off is site wide, granted the item isn't on sale. The fiio e12/17 ARE on sale. I'd email them before buying either of these two.

        • I did ask about the e12, the price after refund is I listed

  • I've spent all week telling myself I didn't need a Aune T1…

    • +1

You can get the T1 cheaper if you manage to use the 15% off ebay coupon. e.g. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141285837471?ssPageName=STRK:MEWA…

The same ebay seller also has the Matrix M USB for about $260 before 15% discount but the pictures seem to indicate they are the previous version, even though the description says "new version".

    • You probably don't, to be honest. If you are going in a tube direction, you are better off with a DAC + tube amp.
