  • In comparison to the Samsung Evo 250GB, which goes for around $135, performance seems quite similar - http://www.storagereview.com/intel_ssd_530_review

So realistically bargaining for a cheap SSD which performs well, i'd be going for this - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/147008

  • does anyone know if the Samsung Evo 250GB from MSY come with the
"Samsung One-Stop Installation Navigator software, Samsung Data Migration software, and Samsung SSD Magician software."

now completely confused TLC or MLC which one is better for net-book whilst traveling, which is also used for photo backups from cameras SD cards

    • If you're backing up photos, wouldn't an external drive be better than an SSD?

      • yes we take an external drive as well, some times it is inconvenient to plug it in on the coach etc an in effect have 2 backups. at home photo's are on 3 different drives spread around.

    • The older Samsung 840's that I purchased in Australia had a physical copy ( cd ) software, but current versions are available to download online directly from Samsung, and would be the easiest way to get it on a netbook without CD Rom drive. Some Intel models also come with software I believe. To answer your question about TLC v MLC, for the average non commercial user under normal use it should not make much difference. Look at the read and write speeds as there is a difference there, but in a netbook it might not make a difference anyway as you might only have a Sata 1 or 2, wheras you need sata 3 to fully benefit max speed. Just get a reputable one/capacity you can afford. Don't over capitalise for a netbook, get 120/128Gig or maybe for photo storage a 240-256 Gig ( best $ per gig at the moment ). Keep in mind that newer/smaller netbook/ultrabooks need a 7mm SSD instead of the older 9mm. With this Intel or Samy 840 Evo 250 Gig you can't go wrong, both fast, reliable, and 7mm. Good luck
